2016 Theme

The theme for the 2016 Festival Parade is the first in a three year theme of "past, present and future" as approve by the Festival Committee.

To kick things off, we look back at our "past" with a theme of "Let's Make History" for the 2016 parade. We invite parade participants to look back at the diverse history of Ireland and theme their clothing and floats with a nod to our historical past.

Conditions of Entry

  1. The St Patrick’s Festival of WA Committee and their appointed event managers Event Services & Productions may refuse entry to any group or persons which in its opinion is politically motivated, conflicts with the aims of the events, conflicts with official sponsors or is otherwise inappropriate for a family audience.
  1. All vehicles must comply with the appropriate Western Australian Motor Traffic Regulations.

  1. No articulated vehicles are allowed
  1. A valid drivers license suitable for the type of transport is required to be provided prior to commencement in the parade.
  1. All vehicles must have appropriate restraints and barriers, and cannot carry more people than that which both the vehicle and the driver are licensed for.
  1. All vehicles must carry a first aid kit and fire extinguisher
  1. All road rules and restrictions must be obeyed in getting when on open roads to and from the designated parade area
  1. All participants are to display a banner during the parade and are to indicate prominently what organisation/group they support.
  1. Any animals are to be adequately supervised, and will require their own excreta collectors to catch and pick up their waste. Permitting your animal to excrete on a street or public place and failing to remove or adequately dispose of such excreta constitutes an offence under the City’s Local Laws.
  1. No items may be thrown into the crowd at any time
  1. Participants who wish to provide giveaways to the public along the parade route will need express written permission from the event organisers prior to the day
  1. The order of participation in the parade is at the sole discretion of the event organisers and cannot be guaranteed.
  1. St. Patrick’s Day WA Inc. accepts no responsibility for any loss or claim arising out of participation in the parade but all care has been taken to ensure a safe and secure parade. Entries are voluntary and at the float participants risk.

This application form does not guarantee entry into the parade until it has been assessed and approved by the St Patrick’s Festival Committee and or the approved event managers.

Please Note: Any business or commercial groups who are not official sponsors will be charged a $50 entry fee per float/vehicle which goes towards traffic management costs for the parade. Community and NFP groups are exempt from the charge.
