FEES SUMMARY ―4-H Exploration Days, June 20-22, 2018

$165 Participant Fee – The fee for 4-H members and adults to participate in 4-H Exploration Days covers meals from Wednesday lunch to Friday lunch, two nights of lodging, all event activities and a T-shirt.

$20 4-H Participation Fee – An additional fee for youth who are not 4-H members.

$120 4-H Awards Assembly Delegate Fee –The fee for 4-H Awards Assembly delegates after a $45 awards scholarship is automatically applied.

$25 Tuesday Early Arrival Fee – This additional fee covers Tuesday lodging and Wednesday breakfast for long distance participants (primarily from Upper Peninsula).

Fee Deadlines, Cancellations & Refunds

$80 Pre-Payment – due upon registration ($100 for youth who are not 4-H members)

-Fully refundable through May 3, 2018.Non-refundable for cancellations between May 4-June 1.

Fee balance due by June 1 – This is the $85 remaining balance plus any additional fees (such as session fees or early arrival fees) or minus any applicable scholarship credits.

-Those who cancel June 3 or later will lose $100 of their payment(s). Refunds for the amount paid beyond $100 will be processed in July.

  1. Process may take 4-6 weeks
  2. The refund may only be written to the person/organization that wrote the original check.
  3. If you have a near immediate cancellation, please let us know right away so we can try to pull the check before it is cashed.
  4. If a scholarship is applied from a county to someone that has already paid to come to Exploration Days, the county will need to send the scholarship directly to the family. MSU Extension will not reimburse a person who has already paid in full. Please do not apply the scholarship to the payment on campus.
  5. The deadline for all refund requests are to be submitted by July 31, 2018!
  6. Refund request should be sent to Jane Love for approval. Jane will coordinate with the business office to process the refund.There will not be a refund of any kind for a no-show at the event.

If you’re also refunding fees that were deposited into a county account (i.e., $10 participation fees put into your county HLD account), be sure to specify the refund amount from each account number and subaccount number based on where you placed the original deposit.

Scholarship Credits

-$165Volunteers serving as instructors, helpers or CCAs attend on full scholarship. (Those needing to arrive on Tuesday will also receive a $25 early arrival fee scholarship.)

-$165County staff who serve as session instructors, session contact people coordinating 5 or more sessions, or CCAs will attend on full scholarship.

-$80County staff who serve as session helpers or session contact people coordinating fewer than 5 sessions will attend on a partial scholarship.

-$45Awards Assembly scholarships – each Awards delegate automatically receives this.

-$40Financial assistance scholarships – to be used by counties provide financial assistance to full-time participants in need and attract new audiences to the event.

-$40Worker scholarships are given to early arrival participants selected to work at Wednesday check-in.

Key and Access Card Replacement Fees: $75 for keys and $10 for access cards not returned at check-out.
