Overview/Annotation: This section is written for the student and contains a three to five sentence description of the project-based learning lesson/module. Your annotation may describe the primary nature (such as hands-on, inquiry, technology-based, project, lecture), whether interdisciplinary or single-subject, and/or its relationship to other lessons (such as part of a unit, follows or precedes another lesson, remediation or extension of another lesson) or courses.
Essential Question(s): Written question(s) that narrows the focus of learning. They are written in a way that challenges higher-order thinking and promotes in-depth investigation. They are not questions that can be answered with “yes” or “no.” They are not limited in number. Learning activities included in the project-based learning lesson/module provide the necessary content knowledge and/or skill for students to answer the essential question(s).
Content Standard(s): list content standards from the Alabama Course of Study for the course and from the competitive event for which the lesson applies. Use the actual content standard number.
Materials, Equipment, and Technology Resources: The items necessary for the student to complete activities included in the project-based learning lesson/module. Pertinent notes to guide preparation or other special instructions needed such as safety considerations are included.
Procedures/Activities: A clear, succinct description that gives specific instructions which enable students to complete the activities included in the project-based learning lesson/module.
Assessment Strategies (Product, Performance or Problem-Based): The most appropriate types of assessment used in the project-based learning lesson/module to assess the students’ content knowledge and/or skill attainment. You may provide sample questions, entire tests, self-assessments, or rubrics.
Credential/Certificate/Award (If applicable):List any credential/certificate/award the student may receive at the completion of the lesson/unit/course.
