DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTS

Mrs Parkin as a district councillor for Sevenoaks declared her interests in any planning matters.

MINUTESThe minutes of the meeting held on 26 January 2006 were signed as a true record.

Mr Scriven’s explanation for absence from Parish Council meetings due to domestic and work circumstances was accepted.

07/2006MATTERS ARISING from the January Meeting

No further information has been received regarding the requested increase in

hours from the Community Police Warden.

The items for attention requested by Mr Ball are all in hand. The rubbish has

been reported to KCC Highways, the rubbish and broken fence at the field next

to Fawkham Garage is being dealt with by Mrs Parkin and a letter has been sent

to Mr Bridgeland in connection with the fly tipping on his land.

The Christmas tree lights will be tied into the tree.

A site for a future burial ground for Fawkham residents has been identified and

it is estimated to be sufficient for 100 years. Negotiations will take place between

landowner and church.

The KCC survey of the lack of white lines along Valley Road will take place in the

next two months.

The Enforcement Officer has been informed of the building works at Fairhavens.

SDC are aware of the situation.

No further information had been received from KCC regarding traffic

management at Castle Hill.

£800 had been previously agreed for the purchase of a SID to be used in the

Village. The device is now available for hire at £10 per month. It was agreed by

all that the second option would be used in the short term.

Quotes are to be requested for refurbishing the war memorial.

10/2006PLANNING

Valley Apriaries Valley Road SE/06/00100. The Parish Council object to the

proposal and request a study of the history of the site. The Parish Council

believe that the 50% increase has been implemented since 1948. Considerable

bulk would be added to the building (H14A para 4(4)). There is no material

difference from the preciously refused application (SE/03/01496).

All Parish Councillors in agreement.

Tree felling at the Shaws. Mr Moss and Mr Billings to visit the site and report.

Mr Moss requested further information on securing a gas supply to the Village.

ACTION Clerk to write to Transco.

Kent Wild Life has visited Gemmas Field (see attached notes from Mrs Parkin)

Mr Moss thanked Mrs Parkin for her continuing involvement in this issue. Mr

Hollands spoke of problems associated with the site particularly coach parking.

A new application is expected and Mrs Parkin is to request a site meeting with SDC to see the current status .

Lorries are continuing to damage the green area at Gallows Wood.

ACTION Clerk to write to the Manager of Brands Hatch Hotel and arrange a

meeting.

The situation in the Village Hall car park is improving.

The planning application for the “Post Office Open” sign is progressing.

Further investigations are taking place into security at the Village Hall.

There have been no further developments on the youth project.

There will be a mail shot from Brands Hatch Circuit advertising the Family

Day and free passes for Fawkham residents.

Mr Moss and Mrs Billings attended a Funding Day at Great Danes. Various methods of obtaining funding for a variety of projects were discussed. Possible use for youth projects and footpaths.

Mr Scrivens asked if the war memorial was in the best position.

Mr Scrivens has several metal bollards. He suggested they could be used at

Gallows Wood and on the Village Green. This is to be investigated for the next

meeting.

Mr Scrivens apologied for his long periods of absence. He will advise the parish

of any future problems.

Mrs Parkin gave her report (please see attached).

The purchase of a computer for use by the Parish Clerk was further discussed . Mrs Parkin explained that the Parish cannot be linked to the Sevenoaks

computer system. Advice regarding the purchase and technical support will be

available.

The realignment of footpaths in the Village was discussed to encourage people

to walk in the Village. A site visit was suggested with KCC/SDC Footpaths

Officer.

ACTION Clerk to make arrangements.
