Work Experience in Orthopedics:

I did my post-graduation (M.S. Orthopedics) with Gold Medal from Government Medical College, Amritsar. It is a government regional tertiary care center. I learnt basic skills in management of trauma and cold orthopedic cases (congenital, degenerative, infection, etc.). Training involved supervised management of trauma in elective and emergency cases. I received training in:

Basic trauma life support

Closed fracture reduction techniques and functional cast bracing

Tendon and ligament repairs, cruciate ligament reconstruction, nerve repair and vascular repair in peripheral arteries

AO plating and nailing techniques

External fixation techniques for upper limb and lower limb fractures

Pediatric orthopedic procedures, such as varus derotation osteotomy for Perthes disease, corrective osteotomies, SCFE pinning, CTEV surgery (including JESS for CTEV)

Hemiarthroplasty hip joint using Austin Moore prosthesis, Thompson’s prosthesis and bipolar prosthesis

Hip joint arthroplasty (Charnley’s and Bimodular Hip replacement)

Knee joint arthroplasty (fixed and rotating platform knee replacement, revision knee replacement)
