FASHIONABLY TOPLESS THE ITALIAN WAY

Following their successful collaboration earlier in the year to produce the Fiat 500 by DIESEL, Fiat and the Italian prêt-a-porter fashion house DIESEL have come together just in time for summer to produce the convertible Fiat 500C by DIESEL.

The Fiat 500C by DIESEL combines the talent, creativity, appeal and innovation of both companies to produce a unique style icon which, with a price of just $500 over the standard Fiat 500C, leaves plenty of money for all the other summer fashion essentials.

High impact visual features include a “DIESEL Green” and DIESEL Indigo Blue body colours, together with 16 inch DIESEL logo alloy wheels, DIESEL side moldings and flared rear view mirrors, the latter two in satin-finish steel matching the front grill, the bumpers and the eye-catching front grille “whiskers”. There is also a rear panel in satin finish with the DIESEL logo and the five air intakes replicatingthose on the historic Fiat 500’s cooling system. DIESEL’s ‘Be Brave’ Logo is on the wheels, the rear badging, the gear knob and the door sill trims.

The same personalized approach extends to the car’s interior, as exemplified by the DIESEL brand denim cloth upholstery. The “500C by DIESEL” has a logo on the dashboard and on the gear lever knob. Also, a small pocket on front seat sides is reminiscent of the fifth pocket on DIESEL jeans.

Standard equipment also includes a glass electric sunroof, climate control air conditioning, front electric windows, remote central locking and boot release and the innovating Blue&Me Telematics system, with voice activated Bluetooth hands-free phone connection and the Blue&Me Nav system.

The 500C by DIESEL is powered by the 1.4 16v engine that provides a maximum of 74 kW at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 131 Nm at 4250 rpm, delivering a top speed of 182 kmh, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 kmh in 10.5 seconds while offering a combined fuel consumption figure of 6.3 l/100 km. The Fiat 500C by Diesel has a choice of a six speed manual gearbox or an optional Dualogic self-shifting gearbox with steering wheel paddles.

The “500C by DIESEL” is the result of a joint effort of the Fiat Styling Centre headed by Roberto Giolito, who crafted the new Fiat 500C and produced a worldwide automotive phenomenon, and the Diesel Creative Team, the creative talent of which has turned DIESEL into a billion dollar a year fashion and style powerhouse.

The Fiat 500C by DIESEL is in Fiat showrooms now with a recommended retail price of $29,490 for the manual version and $31,490 for the Dualogic variant, excluding statutory charges, dealer delivery and dealer costs.
