Fantasy Getaway

Project Requirements

Each student will be required to plan the ultimate “Fantasy Getaway” vacation as a part of our Technical Writing unit. You will have to complete 4 letters, 1 invitation with directions, 1 postcard, thank you card, (2) budgets, an email, and an envelope.

1.)Invitation - You will plan a Bon Voyage party as a send off for your Fantasy Getaway. You will design and create the invitation to your party. Your invitation can be typed or handwritten. Refer to your notes for proper format and what should be in an invitation.

2.)Directions – attached to your invitation will be directions to the party from I-75 and Cobb Parkway. Refer to your notes for proper format and what should be in an invitation.

3.)Party Budget - fill out a budget for your party. The beginning balance will be $1000. You can use TRACKSTAR to gather information.

4.)Research Destination -this sheet is used for your get away to help you decide where you want to vacation. You can use TRACKSTAR to gather info.

5.)Request Letter – Write a business letter requesting information about the vacation of your choice. This letter is most likely going to be written to a travel agent or agency. Include request for airfare, hotel, and anything you want your vacation to include. Don’t forget to include dates of travel and destination.This letter must be typed. Refer to your notes for proper format and text requirements.

6.)Postcard - you will send a Postcardto someone back home from one of the attractions that you visited on your trip. Your teacher will provide you with a blank postcard. On the front you will draw the attraction or landmark and on the back, you will write the message.Refer to your notes for proper format and text requirements.

7.)Friendly letter – Write a friendly letterto someone back home from one of the attractions that you visited on your trip. Include specific details about the attraction or landmark (you may need to do some RESEARCH). This letter should follow the friendly letter format and does NOT need to be typed. Refer to your notes for proper format and text requirements.

8.)Complaint letter - Once you have taken your vacation, you will write a ComplaintLetter. This is also a business letter and you will complain about something you didn’t like about your trip, such as the food, the maid service, the entertainment, etc. This letter must be typed. Refer to your notes for proper format and text requirements.

9.)Compliment letter - You will be responsible for a letter of Compliment. This is a business letter that compliments something about your trip, such as the food, the service, the entertainment, the travel arrangements, etc. Refer to your notes for proper format and text requirements. This letter must be typed

10).Thank You Note – write aThank You noteto someone for sending you or taking you on this trip, or for a gift you received at your Bon Voyage party. Refer to your notes for proper format and text requirements. This must be in your own handwriting.

11). Envelope – you need to include a properly addressed envelope with ANY of your business letters. Please address it to the inside address used in one of your business letters. Refer to your notes for proper format and text requirements. This can be in your own handwriting.
