About the conference

‘A Prudent Approach to a Healthier, Happier, Fairer Wales’ Welsh Public Health Conference is the fourth Public Health Conference to be held in Wales. Jointly organised by Public Health Wales and the Welsh Government, the previous conferences have attracted policy makers, leaders and public health professionals from across the public sector in Wales.

Last year more than 18 exhibitors and 40 posters were visited by over 350 delegates and we hope that this year’s conference will continue to provide an arena for organisations and individuals to share their work.

Conference Aims and Objectives

The conference aims to bring together colleagues from across the public health spectrum to share best practice and ideas with the common aim to improve the health of the population in Wales.

Objectives include developing understanding and learning on how public health can influence key areas of health including:

·  Reducing harm and minimising avoidable harm

·  Tackling inequalities at a local and a national level

·  Promoting equity between the people who provide and the people who use services

·  Achieving better value in healthcare by doing some things less

·  Avoiding unnecessary interventions
