Riding Contract

I (Parent/Guardian) ______have contracted with Fair Winds Farm, LLC to give
(Riders Name) ______riding lessons.
· I understand that all riding lessons must be paid in full, with a minimum payment of four lessons prior to starting my lessons every four weeks. If payment is not received before the start of the first lesson student will be unable to ride.
· I understand that it is my responsibility prior to tacking up my horse to inform the Riding Instructor of any new medical or physical problems which may impact my safety or ability to perform correctly during scheduled riding lesson.
· I understand that my lesson times are planned and I need to be on time. Please allow adequate time to groom and tack. If I am late for my scheduled lesson, my lesson will be an unmounted lesson, unless I have made prior arrangements. I further understand that if I am late the time for my lesson will still remain as scheduled. The only condition for extending my lesson time is if the Riding Instructor is not present at the scheduled lesson beginning time.
· I further accept that the Riding Instructor and/or Owner of Fair Winds Farm, LLC are the only persons with authority to cancel any lesson. All make-up lesson scheduling will be at the discretion of the Riding Instructor. Make-up lessons must be made up within two weeks of canceled lesson.
· I understand that proper attire must be worn for riding lessons which is to be pants, shirt, shoes/boots with at least a half inch heel and a SEI-ASTM approved riding helmet which fits properly with an attached harness. A rider must wear helmet whenever horses are present.
· Private lessons are 30-45 minutes in length and consist of mounting, tack adjustments, actual riding time, cool down time, dismounting and helping after your ride is over. Not all lessons will be mounted lessons. Lessons may be classroom activities, grooming, tacking, horse health, horsemanship, etc….
