Job Title: Food, Beverage Supervisor

Salary: Annual salary of £20,000 pro rata 11months £18,333 permanent position contract to be reviewed June 2016 working week 35hours per week mainly daytime

Job purpose:To maximise the financial viability of the food and beverage teams by ensuring the efficient and effective operation, management and development of these activities.

Key duties:
  1. Develop the business profile and maximise income by enhancing the product range in line with the student profile across all food and beverage and catering activities.
  2. Achieve KPIs by working with the Union ManagerPaisley to implement targets and direction for the Food and Beverage teams and ensure these are met.
  3. Ensure food and beverage areas are marketed and promoted.
  4. Motivate and manage the food and beverage teams, undertaking all areas involved in the management of the team including helping the UMP with recruitment, induction, training, monitoring performance absences, rota preparation, timesheet preparation for payroll.
  5. Keep abreast of external trends and developments in the food and beverage industry including menus and trends within the student market. .
  6. In conjunction with the Union Manager Paisley, ensure range and margins are competitive and appropriate.Take responsibility for the food and beverage team’s legal and statutory duties ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, licensing, food safety, security, HACCAP, Health and Safety and Fire safety.
  7. Ensure adequate cash control processes are in place, including change ordering and banking daily takings.
  8. Take shared responsibility for stock security, stock control and stock handling, ensuring stock is safe, legal and appropriate to sell.
  9. Utilise the EPOS system and use the data to inform effective business decision making and operations and develop the product range / enhance the services provided by the food and beverage team.
  10. Monitor quality standards of the food and beverage team operations.
