Exploring Campus –Group Presentations

In a group of 3-4 students, you will be researching and presenting about a Department whichoffersspecific services to UConn students. In a group, you will contact the department and meet with atleast one staff member there who can tell you more about the department (15 minute interview) and/or the process. Then,you will present to your FYE classmates the things you learned. This will be an 8-10 minute presentationon [Insert the Due Date of your grouphere].

The goals of thisassignment:

To make connections with offices oncampus

To increase experience in personalinterviews

To gain skills in publicspeaking

To learn more about the services offered to UConnstudents

Four things to consider: (You will be graded on how well you address these things in the content ofyour presentation)

If researching an office, what services does this department or organization offer to UConnstudents?

If researching a process, how do this work? What considerations are involved?

What are some challenges the departmentfaces or inherent in the process?

Should students in your FYE class use these services? Why/whynot?
