Expectations/Rubric:

·  Divide your book into 4 sections based on the total number of pages. Stop and do one response after each section.

·  Summary includes at least four descriptive sentences. 5 pts. each

·  Response types are all different (reaction, connection, quote, prediction, or critique).

·  Every response include an explanation (answers the question Why?) 15 pts. each

·  Two different literary elements are named, defined, and explained with an example

(quote) from the book—NO SETTING, POINT-OF-VIEW, SIMILE, METAPHOR, ONOMATOPOEIA

AFTER THE FIRST 6 WEEKS 10 pts. each

·  Work is edited for correct capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. The use of pronouns is limited.

·  Page numbers or percentages (for book readers) are cited for all quotes.
