The 55+ and Retirement Roadshow is coming to The Town Hall, Kidderminster on June 13thfrom 9-30am until 3-30pm.

You don’t need to be 55+ to come to this show but it helps!

What do we want to achieve through the show? - The over 55's lead very busy and diverse lives. Some are looking after relatives at home - either their children who haven't left home or elderly relatives. Some have relatives in a home, whilst others will be living an active retirement. Some will be facing redundancy whilst others will even be thinking of branching out into a new career.

This group of people are the new “younger old” have access to many more varied choices about their future than in their parents’ day. Yet with choices, come decisions and the need for advice and help.

There are lots of areas that concern this group of people; keeping healthy and well, getting fitter, improving balance, and things such as pensions, tax, money, housing, heating, care, mobility, travel, work, medicines and legal issues to name a few. The question is what do people need and when they need it, how do they access it?

This is where we step in. We run these FREE roadshows with the particular aim of providing an information hub where people can come along, quiz our experts and find out the answers to the problems concerning our 55+ age group.

The result is a wonderful mix of exhibitors who will be there offering help and advice on the very relevant issues concerning people at this particular stage in their life.

What is different about this year’s show?

This year we are working with the Local Pharmaceutical Committee and the NHS giving us the chance to cover more health issues at the show. Pharmacists at Boots, Tesco and others locally are participating in this show and, if you are a carer, elderly or have a long term illness, your pharmacist will give you a flyer about this show with your prescription. If you don’t get one, please ask.

Budgets are reducing but, by working together, we can ensure that even more people will benefit from this initiative and gain access to the information they need.
