I am a creative and detail-oriented professional hair stylist with seven years of industry experience. I have a solid reputation for earning the trust and confidence of clients through my technical expertise and commitment to understanding my clients’ needs and building strong relationships.
I am fully qualified and hold a Certificate IV in Hairdressing as well as a Diploma in Hairdressing Salon Management – a qualification that has enabled me to confidently and successfully meet the challenges of helping to run a busy salon. In my current role as hair stylist at Snips Co, a small but busy boutique salon catering to individuals as well as the fashion industry, I’ve had the opportunity to lead a team of four junior hairdressers under the creative guidance of the salon owner. My knowledge of the team’s skills and capabilities together with my friendly and vibrant approach to training and advancing the team’s knowledge have contributed greatly to my success in managing a salon that is organized, exceeds daily revenue targets, and delivers exceptional service to clients.
My technical ability and high degree of creativity have been recognized through my achievement of the TressTech Color Trophy Award in 2012 as well as through being awarded contracts to work with high-end clients on fashion shows as a result of my portfolio and client interactions. I have worked with leading photographers and fashion designers and secured a three-year contract for the salon to provide the hair styling for City Fashion Week.
I have a strong drive to keep up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques and enjoy attending industry events that give me an opportunity to meet other professionals in the broader fashion industry to discuss ideas for collaboration and promotion. I am a strong believer in the importance of social media as a branding and marketing tool and have successfully steered Snips Co’s social media strategy.
Prior to my time at Snips Co, I gained invaluable experience as an apprentice, and then full time hairdresser, at Styling Designs – a large salon located in a busy city shopping center. Here I was able to develop and hone my technical skills while also becoming competent in managing the daily responsibilities of the salon such as dealing with suppliers, stocktaking, booking appointments, maintaining client records, and processing payments.
I am passionate about hair, providing exceptional client service, and growing my skills and knowledge to provide opportunities to advance my salon’s reputation.
