(Hereinafter called the ‘CLUB’)OF THE FIRST PART (AN AMATEUR HOCKEY TEAM)

(Hereinafter called the ‘PLAYER’)

(Hereinafter called the ‘PARENTS’)
WHEREAS the club is a registered Junior A Hockey Club playing in the Central Canada Hockey League and operating out of the city/town of ______in the Province of Ontario as a member of Hockey Canada and Canadian Junior Hockey League.
AND WHEREAS the Player has exhibited sufficiently exceptional hockey skills to play for the club
AND WHEREAS the Club wishes to encourage further education, training and advancement while he is playing for the Club
AND WHEREAS the Club is desirous of the Player playing for the Club and has provided the player a Hockey Canada Registration Certificate to sign with the club
THE SIGNING OF THIS AGREEMENT AUTHORIZES THE TEAM TO ENTER THE PLAYER IN THE HOCKEY CANADA REGISTRY

The Player covenants and agrees:
1. to report to training camp is sound and good health and perform at the level required of him to be a member of a Junior A Hockey Club.
2. to attend all team practices, games, training sessions and scheduled team functions in a timely manner and in appropriate dress and deportment.
3. to report to any member team of the CCHL if transferred, so long as it does not require him to change his school
4. to attend any classes or fulfill any educational commitments he has during the playing season
5. to permit the club to monitor his academic attendance and performance and report to his parents any progress or lack thereof from time to time.
6. to refrain from the use of alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs while under the direction of the club
7. to use the contracted equipment from the league’s official supplier for all league and play off games
8. to abide by the league’s social media policy as outlined in the player handbook
9. to abide by the league’s supplemental discipline policy as outlined in the player handbook

The Parents covenant and agree:
1. to ensure all of the player commitments are met and supported both prior to reporting and during the playing season to allow the club to monitor the attendance and performance of the player at his secondary or post secondary place of education during the playing season
2. to allow the player to transfer to another club in the Central Canada Hockey League provided it does not require a change in school

The Club agrees
1. to provide the player with the opportunity to play and perform with the Club as a full time member and with the benefits provided to all players save and except a guarantee of playing time in games.
2. to provide the equipment program (skaters: 6 sticks, gloves, pants, helmet, visor/goalies: 4 sticks, pants, custom pads, catcher & blocker)
3. to provide the items considered Standard Benefits (off ice training, fitness testing, baseline testing, post game meals, team travel)
4. to provide access to billeting as required and detailed in this agreement

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
Any additional benefits must be listed herein and in compliance with NCAA Amateurism Policy including sponsorships of the $1650 League Fee or $1000 Equipment Program.

ADDITIONAL FEES
Fees in addition to the $1650 league fee and $1000 Equipment Program must be specified herein and may not exceed the maximums outlined.

SUPPLEMENTAL DISCIPLINE

SECTION 1 - BLOWS TO THE HEAD, DANGEROUS HITS AND CHECKING FROM BEHIND

REGULATION 1 – BLOWS TO THE HEAD: Major Penalty – minimum 2 games. Match Penalty – minimum 3 games.

REGULATION 2 – DANGEROUS HIT: Major Penalty – automatic minimum 2 games Match Penalty – automatic minimum 3 games.

REGULATION 3 – CHECKING FROM BEHIND: Major Penalty – automatic minimum 2 games. Match Penalty – automatic minimum 3 games

Minor Penalty – 3rd and each additional infraction – 2 games

SECTION 2 - CUMULATIVE NON-FIGHTING MAJORS AND GAME MISCONDUCTS

REGULATION 4 – ACCUMULATED MAJORS NON-FIGHTING3rd non-fighting major penalty – 3 game suspension.

(Each major penalty thereafter shall result in a 3 game suspension.)

REGULATION 5 – ACCUMULATED NON-FIGHTING GMUpon receipt of 6th Game Misconduct Penalty – 1 Game Suspension and $500.00 team fine.

Upon receipt of 7th Game Misconduct Penalty – 2 Game Suspension and $750.00 team fine.

Upon receipt of 8th Game Misconduct Penalty – 3 Game Suspension and $1,000.00 team fine.

Upon receipt of 9th Game Misconduct Penalty – 4 Game Suspension and $1,250.00 team fine.

Any additional non-fighting Game Misconduct Penalties shall result in an indefinite suspension and full review by the league of the player and the team to determine an appropriate suspension and team fine.

SECTION 3 - FIGHTING AND INSTIGATING

REGULATION 6 – INSTIGATOR CUMULATIVE2nd instigator penalty – 1 game suspension and $500 team fine

3rd instigator penalty – 2 game suspension and $750 team fine

4th instigator penalty – 3 game suspension and $1,000 team fine

5th instigator penalty – 4 game suspension and $1,250 team fine.

Any additional instigator penalties shall result in an indefinite suspension and full review by the league of the player and the team to determine an appropriate suspension and team fine.

REGULATION 7 – FIGHTING

7.1Two Fights on the Same Stoppage – If no instigator in the second fight – each player is suspended 1 game.If there is an instigator in the second fight the instigating player is suspended a minimum of 2 games and the team is fined $500.00. The non-instigating player shall not be suspended.

7.2Three or More Fights On the Same Stoppage If an instigator is not identified, all players – 2 game suspension. + Coaches – 1 game suspension + $1,000 fine per team If instigator is identified: Instigating player(s) - 5 game suspension+ players from instigating team each 2 game suspension + Coach of instigating team – 1 game suspension + $1,000 team fine for instigating team.

If it is clear by the evidence that the multiple fights were instigated by one team, players from the non instigating team shall not be suspended. Players involved in the initial fight shall not be subject to the multiple fight penalties and suspensions. Participation in subsequent multiple fight situations within the same season shall result in increased fines.

7.3Leaving the Bench - Any player that leaves the bench, bench area, dressing room, or penalty box to become engaged in a fight or become a third-man in a fight shall result in a minimum 6 game suspension + $1,500 team fine.

7.4Staged Fights - Player shall be suspended 3 games and the teams shall be given a verbal warning by the game official. If a subsequent staged fight occurs in the same game, the coaches shall be ejected from the game and the team shall fined $600.00 in addition to the player suspension If a player is identified as the instigator of a staged fight - 5 game suspension + coach shall 2 game suspension + team fine $600.00

7.5Fights in Pre-Game or Period End - Each team shall be fined $1,500 plus any other additional fines or suspensions which may be applied + a minimum (2) two game suspension to the players plus any other penalties which may be applied-If instigator - 5 game suspension + Coach 3 game suspension +$1,500 team fine.

7.6Fights in the Last 10 Minutes of a Game - If a fight should occur in the last ten minutes of the game, the coaches of both teams shall be issued a warning that a subsequent fight will result in game misconducts to coaches. However, if an instigator is identified in such subsequent fight, only the coach of the instigating player shall receive the game misconduct. The players shall receive a one game suspension if neither is the instigator-the instigator receives a 2 game suspension and the opposing player receives no suspension.

7.7Goaltender Fighting – minimum three games + 2 games for crossing the opposing blue line. 2nd fight in season minimum 6 games +fight with any player other than a goaltender, he shall be suspended a minimum of two games. If involved in a multiple fight situation in his end of the arena, but not fight the other goaltender, it shall be classified as a multiple fight situation and be subject to a two game suspension and as well as any other penalties or suspensions that may apply. Any extraordinary circumstances surrounding a goaltender’s actions shall be reviewed by the league and disciplined accordingly.

7.8Removing Equipment to Fight – 7.8.1Helmet 1 game suspension.

7.8.2Other Equipment - If any player leaves any equipment on the bench in preparation for a fight, he shall be issued a game misconduct in addition to any other penalties that may apply and suspended for a minimum of one game.

The Head Coach of the team shall be issued a game misconduct and suspended for one game. Should a second situation occur with the same player and team, the suspension shall be two games to the player and the Head Coach in addition to a full review.

7.9Accumulated Fighting Majors

5th fighting major = 1 game suspension 6th fighting major = 3 game suspension + $750 fine 7th fighting major = 4 game suspension + $1,000 fine 8th fighting major = 8 game suspension + $1,250 fine Any subsequent fighting major shall result in an indefinite suspension + full review.

SECTION 4MULTIPLE ACCUMULATED INFRACTIONS

REGULATION 8 – HIGH CONSEQUENCE INFRACTIONS – 5TH AND SUBSEQUENT

8.1Accumulated Combined Infractions From Checking from Behind (Minor, Major or Match) Blows to the Head (Minor, Major or Match) Non-Fighting Major Instigators

One game suspension in addition to any other cumulative suspensions.

Note: All accumulations and consequences are in force for the entire regular season and playoffs.

CCHL ADDITIONAL DISCIPLINE

1.FIGHTINGLast 10 minutes of regulation time or any time in overtime is a 1 game suspension.

In the event there is an instigator, that player shall receive a 2 game suspension and the non-instigator shall not be suspended.

2.NON-FIGHTING MAJORSAll major penalties shall carry an automatic 2 game suspension and be subject to automatic review.

If the major and GM occurs in the final 10 minutes there is no additional automatic 1 game suspension.

Once reviewed the league shall have the option of upholding the 2 game suspension or increasing/decreasing/rescinding.

3.PLAY-OFF CUMULATIVESAny accumulation of minor penalties that results in an automatic suspension under the CJHL Supplement shall be one game.
