Job Title:Events Manager

Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to join our busy team working to improve end of life care. The Events Manager is responsible for organising events and conferences for NCPC and the Dying MattersCoalition.
The Events Manager will oversee all NCPC's national events, conferences, workshops and training events, from planning to evaluation. This will include marketing, booking venues and speakers, taking bookings and liaising with key suppliers.
For most events you will be the lead on the day, responsible for its smooth running and resolving any queries, issues or problems that arise.
The successful candidate will have initiative, the ability to manage a busy and varied workload, prioritise and work quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines. Accuracy, attention to detail and strong communications skills will be essential. You’ll be experienced in creating and running events and calm and flexible enough to deal with any eventuality.
This is a full time post based at NCPC’s office in London but the role will involve attendance at events around the UK and occasional overnight stays. This is a permanent role, subject to a six month probationary period.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To oversee the administration and marketing of national and regional events, trainingand workshopsfor NCPC and Dying Matters
- To work with the Policy Parliamentary Affairs and Dying Matters teams to produce suitable programmes and promotional materials
- To liaise with conference centres, speakers, exhibitors, advertisers, designers, printers, caterers and other key agencies to deliver outstanding events
- To promote NCPC and Dying Matters through exhibition stands and advertising at external events
- To manage events and bookings using NCPC’s ThankQ database
- To update the NCPC and Dying Matters websites with details of forthcoming events as required.
- To evaluate and analyse feedback from delegates, sponsors and partners to enable continuous improvement and development
- To recruit and manage temporary / part time volunteers to assist with events
- Any other duties which may reasonably be required of the postholder.

Internal: Executive Support & Regional Co-ordinator, Policy & Events Officer
External:NCPC and Dying Matters stakeholders
NCPC has an Equal Opportunities Policy and has a flexible approach to working arrangements. The office base is in Central London, but occasional working from other locations is an option. Appointees must be willing to travel within London and to other locations around the country and to occasionally work outside office hours.
