Evelyn Mae Saum Conner, 93, formerly of Strasburg, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Greenfield Senior Living in Woodstock.
The funeral will be held Sunday, August 25 at 3:00 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Reverend William Ballance will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Toms Brook.
Mrs. Conner was born June 19, 1920 in Woodstock, daughter of the late Chester and Nola Kibler Saum.
She formerly worked at Windsor Knit and Aileen. She was a member of Patmos Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenwood Franklin Conner; and two sisters, Vivian Crabill and Lena Flemings.
She is survived by her son, Franklin E. Conner Sr. and wife Barbara of Toms Brook; three sisters, Anna Lee Miller of Strasburg, Louise McInturff of Toms Brook and Fleda Dyke of Toms Brook; four grandchildren, Franklin E. Conner Jr., Sherry May King, Pam Kutsko and Donnafay Turrill; and seven great-grandchildren, Travis Conner, Tori Conner, Stephen Kutsko, Emily Kutsko, Trenton King, Conner Turrill and Alex Turrill.
Pallbearers will be Franklin Conner Jr., Travis Conner, Roland Bagnell, James Kibler, Charles Dyke and Freddie Dyke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tori Conner, Stephen Kutsko, Emily Kutsko, Trenton King, Conner Turrill and Alex Turrill.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Laura Elizabeth Barbe, 56, of Toms Brook, VA, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at INOVA in Fairfax, VA.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Toms Brook, VA. Reverend Jonathan Boynton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Barbe was born September 10, 1956 in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Charles W. and Sara E. Williams Parish. She graduated from Fairfax High School and Northern Virginia Community College. She was formerly employed with E- Systems in Falls Church, VA and attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Larry A. Barbe; and brother, Dean G. Parish of Baltimore, MD.

Mary Lake age 78, wife of former Strasburg resident Curtis Lake, passed away April 10 2009 from Alzheimer's disease. They had resided in Waldport, OR since October 2005. Mary was born June 11, 1930 in St. Paul, MN to Jacob and Katherine Von De Linde. She attended Taylor University in Upland IN where she and Curtis met. They were married March 26, 1955 in St Paul, MN. Besides her husband, other survivors include a daughter Rebecca Benson of Waldport, OR and husband Larry, a son Robert Lake of Jackson, NJ and wife Ann, and two grandchildren, Emily and Brian Lake. Also a brother Jacob Von De Linde of St Paul and a sister Katherine Rathjen of Sun City, AZ and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Rodney Von De Linde.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church with Reverend David Howard officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 7-9 PM.

Christine Fant Betts, of Linden, Virginia, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Toms Brook, Virginia. Reverends Jonathan and Deanna Boynton will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Stover Funeral Home, 177 North Holliday Street, Strasburg, Virginia.
Chris was born on October 29, 1941 in Crystal Falls, Michigan, to Alfred and MaryBelle Fant. She graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1959. She married William "Jack" Betts on June 3, 1961.
Chris worked for many years at Precision Tune Corporate Headquarters until retiring in 2010. She enjoyed sewing, reading, camping and spending time with her dogs. She was an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and relied on her strong faith to guide her home.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Betts; her three daughters, Karen Jennings and husband Edward of Hollywood, SC, Patty Gibbons and husband Jim of Prospect, PA, and Donna Notti and husband David of Virginia Beach, VA; beloved grandchildren, Brad and Russ Gibbons and Samantha Notti; and her two adored dogs, Cody and Tanner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be given to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2808 Mt. Hebron Road, Toms Brook, Virginia 22660.
