HR Issues

The Director of HR informed the meeting that after consultation a motivation would be presented to EM regarding the leave conditions that would apply to staff members who would be Erasmus Mundus grantees.

Faculty and Departmental Plans

An observation was made that Faculties and Departments would need to carefully plan and align their strategic objectives as they released some staff for further development.

Supervisors, HoDs, and Research Coordinators have to be available to give support to applicants as the latter will continue to be registered with their faculties. Supervisors will also need to be in a position to liaise with supervisors in the host universities.

Considerations by applicants

Applicants were strongly advised to -

Acquaint themselves with the conditions of the scholarship on offer through accessing the websites of the two consortia EUROSA and EMA2SA. Search through the websites of 8 European universities for EMA2SA and 9 universities for EUROSA and find which best fit their research areas and interests.

Take time to develop their Study Plan as this will determine the quality of academic experience the applicant will have in Europeconsult broadly before the closing date

5) Next meeting

The meeting decided that another open workshop would be held during the second week of November.

Departments and Faculties can still decide to have in house meetings and can invite:
