ENSA GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2011

“Stepping-up efforts to combat poverty, boosting innovation with shared social responsibilities at regional and local level”

Klagenfurt and Vienna, 7 – 10 June 2011

Agenda

In collaboration with the European Local Inclusion and Social Action Network (ELISAN), and the 2010 Social Inclusion Regional Group (2010 SIRG), the European Network of Social Authorities, (ENSA) coordinated by the Veneto Region with partners in more than 11 European countries, will hold its Annual General Assembly 2011 from the 7th to the 10 of June of June 2011. The event will be hosted by the Federal Countries of Carinthia and Vienna (Austria).

The ENSA network aims to encourage an exchange of diverse cultural models and experiences in the social care sector, to deepen the dialogue concerning social policies with the European Institutions and to participate in innovative European projects. A range of social care issues are addressed through five thematic groups, namely: Elderly, Youth, Child Issues, Disability and Social Inclusion.

Envisaging progress in a context of demographic changes and reduced material resources in the aftermath of the economic and financial crisis requires the creation of new opportunities for exchanges and innovation. From a perspective of shared social responsibilities, this year’s ENSA General Assembly will highlight innovative strategies, best practises and project ideaspromoting social cohesion and aiming to reduce poverty. Taking advantage of the momentum created by the 2011 European Year of Volunteering, a particular focus will be dedicated to actions carried out bythe third sector, which is increasingly identified as critical for the future delivery of social services.

The event will be the occasion to explore opportunities for further collaboration in these fields and therefore to go on developing the work to be held within the five thematic working groups.
