MYHA Board Meeting May 18, 2014

Board Attendees: John Thompson, Julie kemp, Jim Sass, Nick Ardito, Alex Rogosheske, John Mack, Dino Marino, Sterling Black, Jen Harnisch, Mike Fox, Derek Skilling

Other Attendees: Shelli Heinsch (for tournament topic)

Absent: Dan Lallak (late from D2 meeting), Jeremy L'Allier

Tournaments:

Sterling -motion to approve 4 tournaments, Mike -second; approved (unanimous)D2 --

  • Registration for US Hockey and MN Hockey registrations for all volunteer positions -please send to Julie and she will keep track of them

Board meeting schedule discussion and meeting format –continue with Sundays at 8, 3rd Sunday for now

John Thompson - President and CPRB

Derek Skilling -- VP, Volunteer program, work with Shelli on scheduling and tournaments, competition committee

Julie Kemp –Secretary, communication, website, manager coordinator, liaison with registrar, etc, girls program director

Nick Ardito -- Treasurer (Jim resigning as of today)

Jen Harnisch -- Director of recruitment -- all recruitment and growth goals

John Mack -- Director of Community Relationships, including sponsorships, leveraging our resources more to get the community excited, liaison to golf committee,

Dan Lallak -- Director of external affairs, d2 scheduling, d2 coordinator with registrar, coaching education, etc

Alex Rogosheske -- Boys Program Director and related programs from Mites thru Bantams

Sterling Black -- Director of Mites, all things mite-related, coaches, and mite move-ups

Dino Marino -- Director of Association Assets, DEC, rink improvements (DEC and WBC), apparel, picture day, etc, and all association assets (jerseys, pucks, Zamboni)

Jeremy L'Allier -- competition committee, coach selection, evaluations, player and coach

Mike Fox -- Director of Player Development, practice plan, goalie development program, dry land sessions

Motion to approve all new members -- approved unanimously

Key Volunteers -

Shelli Heinsch – ice scheduling and tournament coordination

Carrie Ardito - asked to be in organization and communications, e-newsletter on a monthly basis, may also include website development

Tracey Boehmert -Registrar We will need DIBS coordinators for next year, since

Jill Begley and Sarah Fabian are doing the tournament now

Need apparel and jerseys coordinator

Fundraising-

  • Golf Tournament -- started 3 years ago, and we picked one item that is being done, now want new scoreboard at WBC (which becomes property of WBC)
  • Gold Plate Dinner -- postpone or find new location?
  • New Fundraising Event -- online ordering of mugs, etc based on pictures
  • Tournament -- weekend of November 20-21 at WBC, Squirts B and C with 8 teams each, DIBS, etc (Sarah Fabian and Jill Begley have volunteered to do this)
  • Motion to cancel BOB and postpone Gold Plate -- approved unanimously Squirt B and C tournament in November 20-21 -- approved unanimously. (Need to get advertisement into letsPlayHockey by next Tuesday.)

Ramsey County re dry land area -- design done, API donated stairs, need to negotiate time with WBL high school...

Jerseys - Need to determine which teams get new jerseys this year, and Michelle can help, but she is not going to be the coordinator.

Pictures -- will be done earlier in time for Holidays.

D2 Update -- proposing Squirt B2 this year —D2 voted no for this.
