The exhibition is expected to help raise public attention on the issue of climate change and new ecological architecture.

The two-part exhibition was held in Seoul from 25-29 September and will be open in Busan from 7-12 October. The event is part of the EU’s global initiative – ‘EU Climate Diplomacy Week’ aiming to raise public awareness on climate issues.

The opening ceremony will start at 2:00 pm on Friday, 7 October at Busan Station Plaza (programme attached).H. E.DrGerhard Sabathil, Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Korea and Joelle Hivonnet, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Korea as well as other EU officials will be present together with Hong Seong-Hoa, Ambassador for International Relations at Busan Metropolitan Government, and representatives from the European and Korean community in Busan.

Ambassador Sabathil said, “Buildings use nearly 40% of produced energy globally and account for one-third of global greenhouse gas emission. The building sector could dramatically reduce these emissions by transforming how buildings are designed, built, and managed. The exhibits display innovative designs which can be inspirational to all those involved in the construction industry as well asthe general public.”

European countries are leading the trend of new urbanism and sustainability in the building sector. This week-long photo event will be a good opportunity to appreciate aesthetic and environmentally-friendly European architecture. Coinciding with the Busan International Film Festival, the EU Delegation to Korea hopes that many Busan citizens and visitors will enjoy the outdoor exhibition at the gateway to Busan.

Feedback is important to the EU and visitors to the exhibitions are encouraged to leave their comments either on Facebook (hashtag #CLIMADIPLO) or email
