Narator: Our stories find us in ancient Shusan by way of high school. This is two stories rolled into one story of fighting hate, of overthrowing bad leaders and of standing up for what we believe in.
Shusan might seem like it was a long long time ago but the ganz meggillah seems to be the same right, Oy. Just fasten your seat belt, jump on board for this time traveling musical extravaganza where love will conquer hate, bravery will triumph over fear and the only time we bow down is after our finale.
Our story begins with King Ahasuerus demanding that his queen Vashti dance for him, and she is not having it or the costume that he has decided on.
In modern times, the football players at McKinley High are insisting that the only thing that girls are good for is being cheerios cheerleaders.
Well the young women aren't having it in either story and this is what they have to say about it:
King Ahasuerus: Dance for me, just dance. Just dance. Gonna be okay.
Da-doo-doo-doo
Just dance. Spin that record babe.

Vashti- No way Kingy, I don't feel like dancing and I certainly am not going to Just dance in that weird costume
Cheerios- Right, we have better things to do then just jump around, while you get all the glory, we have justice to fight for and none of you can boss us around.
Vashti and Cheerios- That’s right, just because you wear a crown or a football helmet does not make youthe bosses of us. This is our night you aren't going to rain on our parade:

King Ahasuerus: Oh.... Now you are never going to dance for me, I know you are running off to audition of Shusan Idol.
Finn- If you can't make em dance, I say join em, I am going to join the glee club.
King Ahasuerus: And I am going to look for another queen!
Narrator: Well even though the cheerios and Vashti fled to more feminist and fruitful pastures. There was still trouble brewing for both the glee club and in Shusan. It seems there was both an evil man named Haman..... and an evil cheer-leading coach named Sue Sylvester who just wanted to stop the music. Haman wanted to hurt the Jews. And both these ruthless leaders would not be happy to until they got their way!
Haman: I know what I will do, I will make a law so that all the Jews in Shusan have to bow down to me.
Sue Sylvester: And I will make a rule that only "certain" types of kids can be cheerleaders and popular, everyone else will be second class citizens.
Both: That is right second class citizens, (They both give an evil laugh)
Narrator: Now luckily for the Shusan and the Glee club, there were fearless heroes waiting to fight against this prejudice, hate and bad fashion ( you know, Sue Sylvester's track suit and bad hat that Haman always wore, three sided hats are so. 3338 you know-(423 BCE) We have Mordechai and Esther and Will Shuster ( glee club conductor) and Rachel.(lead singer and proud daughter of two dads).
Mordechai- Esther, we have a situation and only you can help. I overheard some people talking it written all over face tablet and my scroll that Haman- the kings advisor has an evil plot against the Jews. King Ahasuerus is having a pageant to pick a new queen and you must enter the pageant.
Esther- But I am a Jew. What is he finds out? Also, I just don't know I am shy and I am scared and I am....Okay..... I am going to do it. I am going to try to....
Will Shuster- Rachel, I just overheard that Sue Sylvester is trying to rig junior prom so that no one who is "different" can be popular or be on the royal court of the Junior Prom.
Rachel- Oh.... I don't know those Cheerios can be so mean and I don't want to get stuffed in a locker and I feel like they might not really get me for Prom Queen and I just don't know and I am having a bad hair day but okay... I am going to...
Will Shuster- Then you know what, the whole glee club, all of you will run.MercedesKurt,ArtieTina Chang, and Puck.
Kurt- I know I would make an excellent homecoming queen.
Everyone: We can do it, we can reach for the sky and fly, it is time that we.
Esther: Something has changed within me.....

The King picks Esther and Rachel and Kurt are both crowned prom queen.
King Ahasuerus sings to Esther:

Narrator: But the troubles were far from over in both Shusan and for the Glee club. It seems that the victories of Rachel and Kurt and Esther just made Sue and Haman that much angrier.... Will and Mordechai overhear them scheming...
Haman- Well, it just didn't seem enough that I would have the Jews bow down to me, now I must make a scheme that gets rid of them forever, I know, I will have the King sign a decree that says all just must be killed. ( evil laugh).
Sue- Well those little miscreants think that they can ruin the school order that I have fought so hard to create at this school, a system where only the straightest, whitest, most cheerful, bouncy skinny people rule the school. I know I will make a status update that says that anyone who is different is going to be banned from regionals...... ! ( evil laugh)
Mordechai: Esther, you have to do something.
Esther: But what ever can I do? If I demand an audience with the king, I could get killed.
Mordechai- Well... how about if you throw him a party, that King really likes his mulled wine and I think if you get him relaxed enough you can convince him to not follow through with Haman's evil plot.
Will- Rachel, Finn and Kurt, you are the homecoming queens and king. You have got to stand up to the evil status update of Sue Sylvester, if she has her way, our school will be as white toast as wonder bread. That just isn't right. We have to do something to change her mind.
Rachel- Well, I think if we just talk to her and reason with her.
Kurt- I think if we do a fashion makeover.
Finn- I know I can throw a football party and invite her and the cheerios, but really when we have the party it will turn into a demonstration. It will be so much fun, that everyone will want to join in with the idea that being prejudice to anyone is wrong.
Esther- But it will have to be a great party, full of song and minstrels
Rachel- And ice cream and pizza
Both- And black eyed peas.
Everyone:

Narrator; And so it was that Esther was able to convince the King to overturn Haman's evil decree and the Jews were saved. There is much commentary about what the punishment was for Haman but for our story we are going to say that he was assigned the arduous task of fixing the Shusan budget deficit. Suffice it to say, he was never seen!
As for Sue Sylvester, overwhelmed with the passion of her students and their authenticity, she realized that her outward prejudice was just internalized oppression, she came out and is now the head cheer-leading coach for the Ellen show.
As for the the rest of the GLEE club, Will is taking them on a a world tour as ambassadors of love fighting hate around the world.
Mordechai- And while it is a happy ending in this case,
Esther- It doesn't mean the fight is over.
Rachel- And we have to keep finding ways to create hope
Everyone- we have to create a world we we can imagine peace and love for everyone:
