Episode One – The City Is Alive Tonight

EPISODE ONE
INT. ROOM – DAY
A man is sitting in a chair. His name is BOB and his clothes are torn and he is all bruised up. Another man, JAMES, walks over to Bob with a metal pipe in his hand. The metal pipe has blood all over the top of it.
MAN (O.S.)
Action!
James walks over to Bob with the pipe in both hands.
JAMES
Bob. I am a nice man and I only need a few questions answered. You’re making me turn into a bad man.
James gets face to face with Bob.
JAMES
Do you want me to turn into a bad man?
James spits in Bob’s face. James then backs away from Bob.
JAMES
I will ask you one more time. Where is the document hidden?
Bob looks up at James.
BOB
I do not know, sir.
Bob stares at James with a look of denial. James then starts to burst out laughing.
MAN (O.S.)
Cut!
James then walks of the set and equipment and cameras are everywhere. The director stands up from behind the camera.
DIRECTOR
Alright, we’re done for the day. Everybody pack up and we’ll see you tomorrow morning.
James gets up from the chair, wiping his face with a towel, and walks off the set. The Director walks up towards him.
DIRECTOR
Good work today Johnny.
JOHN
Thanks.
The Director puts his hand out for Johnny to shake. The Director walks away. He then turns around towards Johnny.
DIRECTOR
James is just a fictional character, Johnny. We don’t want another cross-dressing Fiona on our hands again.
John smiles and nods his head at the Director. He then walks away and out of the building.
CUT TO:
EXT. DRIVEWAY – EVENING
A Mercedes Benz pulls up in the driveway of a beautiful house. A white house with a great lawn and tree’s that looks perfect.
John gets out of the car once it is parked and walks up the sidewalk to the front door. He is now dressed casually.
He gets up to the door and opens it with the keys that were in his hand.
INT. FERROR HOUSE – LIVING ROOM
The door closes and sudden thumping is heard echoed around the house. John smiles and waits by the door looking around the room.
Suddenly two little boys, Jacob and Ben, run up to John. They are both 8 years old and one is dressed up as a cowboy and the other an Indian.
They both grab onto John and hug him. John gets on his knees and hugs them back. A beautiful woman then walks in the room. She looks to be about 30. Her name is Jennifer and she is wearing black suede pants and a low cut shirt. Jennifer smiles as she leans against the wall.
The two boys the let go.
JACOB
Bye daddy.
BEN
Bye daddy.
They then run away and into another room. John looks up at Jennifer and stands up.
JENNIFER
Cowboys and Indians. They have been playing it all day.
Jenn then walks towards John and John walks towards Jenn.
JOHN
How ya been?
JENNIFER
Fine…
Jenn has a look on her face as if she is hiding something. John smiles.
JOHN
What is it Mrs. Ferror?
Jenn then smiles and walks over to the kitchen. John follows her.
INT. KITCHEN
Jenn stands by the counter. John walks in looking around.
JOHN
What’s going on?
Jenn then walks up to John, grabs his face and starts to kiss him. Suddenly the front door is heard hitting the ground. John pulls away and looks over there. Two people are seen wearing all black with black shi masks.
JOHN
Shit.
John looks at Jenn.
JOHN
Go try and get the kids and hide. I will keep them distracted. Go!
Jenn then runs in an unknown room. John then runs in an unknown room.
INT. OFFICE
John runs into what looks like an office. With a large desk and a TV. John runs over to the desk and opens the drawer. In the drawer is a gun. He takes the gun and checks if it has bullets. It does.
John the leaves the room and in the living room.
INT. LIVING ROOM
John bends down next to the sofa. The two men have their backs towards him. One man then walks up the steps and the other walks in the living room. The man does a quick search of the living room. John makes his way into another room while the other man searches the living room.
INT. KITCHEN
John makes it to the kitchen and grabs a knife. He then hides at the side of the kitchen entrance. After a minute, the man comes in the room. The man sees him.
MAN
What the f-
John then stabs the man in the head. John lets him slowly fall on the ground. He then gets a good grip of his gun and walks towards the steps.
INT. STAIRWAY
John slowly walks up the steps. He then makes it to the top.
INT. HALLWAY
John looks around and sees not a single person. A gunshot is then heard in one of the rooms. John jumps and hurries and runs to the room it came from. Another gunshot is heard followed by another one.
As John runs to the room. Everything goes in slow motion for him. Tears start to run down his face. The man in black then walks out of the room. He sees John running towards him. He puts his hands out ready to catch John.
He grabs John and puts a gun to his head. John looks in the room the gunshots were heard from and sees his whole family on the ground, shot.
MAN
Come on!
The man grabs the gun from John and throws it on the ground.
MAN
You’re coming with me.
CUT TO:
EXT. FERROR HOUSE - NIGHT
The man is seen carrying John towards an all black limo which is parked on the street. The man opens the trunk and puts John in it. The man then gets in the limo.
INT. CAR
The man takes his gloves of. A woman is seen sitting across from him. Her name is Agent M.
AGENT M
Would you like a drink Agent Q?
Agent Q then takes off his mask. He is a black man with a shaved head.
AGENT Q
No thanks Agent M. Where are we taking him?
AGENT M
To see the boss. I’m sure he will have something for him to do.
The car then drives away.
CUT TO:
EXT. LIBERTY HEADQUARTERS – NIGHT
A large building is seen. It has about 200 floors to it. The name Liberty is seen on the front. The limo is then seen pulling up towards it.
CUT TO:
INT. ELEVATOR
Agent M, Q and John are in the elevator. John is awake and staring at both Agents’. Agent Q has a gun to his head.
Agent M then pulls out a key and places it in a key hole next to a button that says 200. She turns the key and the elevator starts to move.
After a while the elevator makes it to floor 200. Everyone walks off the elevator.
INT. BOSS’S ROOM
There is only one room and is done very nice. Decorations everywhere, just a plain beautiful room. A man is at the end of the room. Behind a desk. He stands up.
His name is The Boss and he is tremendously over weight. He is about 30.
BOSS
Is this him?
AGENT M
Yes sir.
BOSS
Leave him here. And leave. Come back in about 20 minutes.
AGENT M
Yes sir.
Agent M and Agent Q both leave the room. John is sitting on the floor, crying.
The Boss stands up and walks over towards John.
BOSS
Hello John Ferror. You don’t know who I am but you can refer to me as Master and only that.
John
Wh-
BOSS
Something wrong? Oh they killed your family. Wanna know a little secret.
The Boss gets face to face with John.
BOSS
I ordered them to.
John then quickly punches The Boss in the face. The Boss smiles and gets up.
JOHN
Why me?
BOSS
Would you like to die tonight? Because that is where you are headed. So for future reference, I ASK THE GOD DAMN QUESTIONS HERE!
John quickly nods his head.
BOSS
You are despicable.
The Boss walks over to his desk and presses a button. The side wall opens up. It is a jail cell on the other side. A man was lying down but quickly gets up. He looks over at John.
BOSS
Go!
John gets up and walks over to the jail cell. The doors then open and John goes inside.
INT. JAIL CELL
The door the closes and the wall closes. A small light is at the top of the cell.
MAN
What is your name?
A man comes from the shadows. He has a large beard and is about 20. His name is Damon and he is black.
JOHN
What?
DAMON
I said what’s your name?
JOHN
John.
DAMON
Well I’m Damon, John.
JOHN
How long have you been in here?
DAMON
About 2 years.
Damon then lies down. John looks at him and sits on the floor. John then closes his eyes.
INT. JAIL CELL – NIGHT
John opens his eyes. Damon is sitting down in a chair. He is smoking a cigarette. John sits up and looks over at Damon.
DAMON
Want one man?
John nods his head and reaches over for a cigarette. Damon also hands him a lighter. John lights it up and gives the lighter back to Damon.
DAMON
So what happened to ya man?
JOHN
My family was killed by those basterds. Every single one.
John looks down.
DAMON
Damn man. Sorry to hear that. He killed my wife.
John looks up at him.
CUT TO:
EXT. PARK – NIGHT
Damon and his wife, Sandra, are holding hands, walking through the park.
SANDRA
This has been the best day of my life.
Damon stops and looks at her.
DAMON
It’s not over yet.
Damon smiles and gets on his knees.
DAMON
Sandra Clark Stifling, will you mar-
Suddenly a gunshot is heard. Damon stands up and looks around. Sandra stares at him with a shocked look on her face.
DAMON
Sandra?
Sandra then falls into his arms. She has been shot.
DAMON
Shit.
Damon then slowly brings her to the ground and holds her in his arms. He then starts to cry.
CUT TO:
EXT. JAIL CELL
John’s eyes are wide open as Damon finishes his story.
DAMON
What about you man?
JOHN
They just came in and killed them…
John looks at the ground.
JOHN
We need to get out of here, now.
