•The 2015 ACI Construction Awards will honor the project teams and the concrete results they’ve achieved. Our region is home to outstanding industry professionals and projects worthy of recognition. This packet includes the 2015Entry Form and Guidelines.

• Submit Your Projects for Judging in the Following Five Categories –No Cost to Enter!

1.Architectural– Visually appealing, judging the concrete’s features use or finish, buildings or structure’s shape and architectural characteristics.

2.Structural– Exceptionaluse of concrete in the framing system of the building or as a main feature of the structure.

3.Construction– Outstanding construction techniques, uses of materials, or new and innovative concrete use.

4.Unique Use of Concrete– Projects that fall outside the scope ofarchitectural, structural or construction categories while exhibiting a creative use of concrete.

5.Green/Environmental – Concrete focused on reduced greenhouse gases, improved efficiencies of a structure/building. Encouraging market transformation towards sustainable design and exhibiting environmental performance.

ACI Construction Awards go to the winning entrant and the project team. Honorable Mentions may also be awarded in the competition’s five categories.

Judges Are Drawn from ACI Chapter Board members, past presidents of ACI, architectural, engineering, construction and concrete material associations and engineering programs.

Each Category Winning Entrant will also receive two complimentary tickets to the Awards Banquet and a one-year membership to the Northern California and Western Nevada Chapter of ACI.

Construction Award Sponsorships are $500. Sponsors are etchedon the awards themselves, used in promotion of the event, on our website and at the Awards Banquet and printed material.

Entry Guidelines – No Cost to Enter

1. 2015 ACI Construction Awards categories and criteria:

1.Architectural– Visually appealing, judging the concrete’s features use or finish, buildings or structure’s shape and architectural characteristics.

2.Structural– Exceptionaluse of concrete in the framing system of the building or as a main feature of the structure.

3.Construction– Outstanding construction techniques, uses of materials, or new and innovative concrete use.

4.Unique Use of Concrete– Projects that fall outside the scope of architectural, structural or construction categories while exhibiting a creative use of concrete.

5.Green/Environmental – Concrete focused on reduced greenhouse gases, improved efficiencies of a structure/building. Encouraging market transformation towards sustainable design and exhibiting environmental performance.

  1. All projects considered for award must meet the following guidelines:

1.Predominant structural or architectural features made with Portland cement concrete materials.

2.Project should have been completed between January 1, 2012 and September 30, 2015.

3.Individuals or organizations may submit up to a total of four projects.

4.Project must be located within the Northern California and Western Nevada geographical area.

  1. Our jury is drawn from ACI Chapter Board members, past presidents of architectural, engineering, construction and concrete material associations and engineering programs.

All entries must be submitted in electronic format no later than Monday, October 26, 2015. IMPORTANT NOTE: In addition to the minimum information required on the entry form, submit digital photos, drawings, PowerPoint presentations and other suitable material in an organized manner that will help to portray the outstanding features of your project. Each winner should be prepared to make a 10 – 15 minute PowerPoint presentation about their project at the Awards Banquet on November 10, 2015.
