Questions regarding the requirements for EMR-Data Collection System:

1) Where will this EMR be used? Emergency room, Private Practice office, all locations, etc.

2) What information will the patient need to fill out and what should be left for the nurses or the receptionist*? Will the patient, nurses, doctors, etc. be using the same device?

3) Is the EMR going to verify that the person is who they say they are, or will the receptionist still be doing the verification?

4) Should the information be viewable by the users? For example, should the patient have access to the medical data? Should nurses have access to personal patient information or submit prescription information?

5) How will the visual records of medical conditions be taken? From webcam, camera, camera phone, xrays, etc?

6) How should we be able to search for previous patients? By name, drivers license #, insurance id #, etc.

7) How should the medication (past and currently prescribing) be entered in? Text box, or select from drop down box (organized by category)?

8) When new patient information is entered by the patient (i.e.. a new allergy, a medication taken away), should the nurse be notified about the differences between the database and the information that has been entered?

9) For preliminary diagnosis, how should the commentary be entered? Plain text, text file, able to load an audio file, etc.

10) Could you give us an example of how HL-7 standards will fit into the web application? For example, when a nurse is viewing allergy information, should they be able to click a link to view hospital standards on how to deal with an allergy.
