  • Responsible for the installation, documentation and ongoing maintenance and support of many different systems at various client sites of varying sizes and levels of computer expertise.
  • Teamed with the Sales area to meet with customers, analyse needs and present potential solutions that match their requirements and budgets.
Projects and other duties have included:
  • Provided a high availability Internet connection solution through the design and implementation of a two server cluster with CheckPoint FireWall-1 2000 and StoneBeat FullCluster 2.0 on Solaris 7.
  • Managed the implementation of a very high availability network centre, with a 12 server citrix farm, a 2 server Windows 2000 Cluster, and a 1.5Tb IBM SAN,
  • Designed and managed an international network redesign, including new network infrastructure, Citrix Metaframe server farms, file and print service and Thin Client technologies covering 8 cities in 3 countries, providing centralized management and a much lower TCO for the client.
  • Installation of a two-server load-balanced Citrix server farm using MetaFrame 1.8 on Windows NT Terminal Server Edition, with 60 Linux-based thin clients using a customised image.
  • Designed and implemented the migration of a single Windows NT server to a highly-available Windows 2000 server cluster using GeoCluster.
  • Designed and implemented a RedHat Linux-based email solution using SendMail and Qmail, providing POP3 and SMTP services to over 500 clients while also improving server security and reliability.

  • Developed and managed the implementation of a pilot project for conversion and coexistence of Token Ring and Ethernet workstations.
