Elluminate has created numerous product features to ensure that participants with vision or hearing impairment can participate as fully as possible in the sessions.
Support for Screen Readers: Elluminate allows an easy install version of the Java
AccessibilityBridge to be downloaded from their Support site. This software allows screen readers such as JAWS to read the interface and provide auditory cues about the software functionality to visually impaired participants. All menus and dialog boxes are readable by the screen reader. The Java Accessibility Bridge allows these screen readers to provide verbal cues in the Elluminate Live! interface. In addition, this enables all menus and dialog boxes to be read by the screen reader.

Hot keys differ from shortcut keys in that you can modify the definition of these keys plus you do not need to the Elluminate Live! window maximized to use.
By default, six hot keys have been defined for the commonly used features in Elluminate Live!.

Configuring Hot Keys
Caution should be exercised when changing the default definitions in that you do not change the hot key definition to a hot key of an application that you frequently use. For example, if you use Word you may not want to use Ctrl+Home. If you have both applications open, entering Ctrl+Home in the Word document will not take you to the top of the document instead whatever action you defined it to do in Elluminate Live! will be executed.
The hot keys can be defined based on your preferences. To configure them:
1. From the Tools menu, select Hot Key Configuration
2. From the Hot key configuration dialog box, select the hot key you wish to revise and click Modify
3. The Edit Hot Key dialog box appears.
4. Assign the keystrokes. You may input the keystrokes in one of two ways:
- Click on the down arrow button to select a key and then select any of the combination keys in the list. For example, the above keystroke is Ctrl+Cancel
- Highlight the text box and enter the keystrokes. This will automatically select the combination keys.
5. Select OK to complete the configuration.
6. Click Done to close the Hot key configuration dialog box.
If you reconfigure the hot key(s), then Elluminate Live! will remember your setting each time you join a session.
The hot key is restricted to one character (you may include Shift, Ctrl or the Alt key). You should also avoid key combinations that conflict with standard window operations.
