September 2017

Dear Emmaus Family,

“Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth. O God, who by the light of The Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit, we may be truly wise and ever enjoy your consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Happy September!! Praying that you can get out and enjoy the weather during the month of September. A perfect night for Bobby and I is to take our chairs and just sit by the river. I shot this picture in Brandenburg at sunset – thank you God for letting me share your beauty!

Our next gathering will be Saturday night, September 9th at 7:00 p.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church. Please reach out to your friends and come out and join us for worship and fellowship. Each month before the gathering, our Board of Directors hold their monthly meeting to discuss community happenings and make decisions for your community. If you would be interested in serving on this board, you can contact a board member and let them know. We will be holding elections soon for the 2018 year. Consider serving in this capacity for your community.

This month, we will be blessed as Radcliff UMC’s Praise Team will be leading our worship – thanks to this group for serving and thanks to Jeremy Lundy for coordinating our worship time.

Also, for the next 2 gatherings, our community will take a special love offering for Christmas Goody Bags that are handed out to the residents at Northpoint Training Center. Thank you in advance for your support of the R.E.C.

Please be in prayer for our Fall walk teams; the kitchen crew, agape crew, clergy teams, the campground, our leaders and our speakers as they prepare for formations. Pray for the men, women and students who will be called to attend these weekends. Remember that the community can help tremendously during the walks by supplying snack agape the week of the walk. We are excited to see what happens in October out at the campground.
