  • Go to
  • Download Classroom Performance System (CPS)
  • Download CPS Image Library
  • Download CPS PowerPoint
  • Go to C:\CPS_Databases
  • Create a folder called Standards
  • Download Standards
  • Click ContentCPS Content
  • Click Find State Standards
  • Click AlabamaGo
  • Scroll down and choose download
  • Download to My ComputerCC:\CPS_DatabasesStandards
  • Download each set of standards to the Standards folder
  • StartProgramsCPSCPS
  • CPS Instruction Handout
  • Create a New CPS Database
  • Save the Database under C:\CPS_Databases
  • Create a Class - Under the Classes and Student tab
  • Click New Class
  • Choose K-12 Click Next
  • Do you have a username and password for CPS Online
  • Choose No
  • Click Next
  • Fill in Title, First Name, Last Name, email address, and teacher code which will be your network username
  • The class name will be your network username followed by Camp
  • Display new attendance sessions as Absent/Present in Class Info Area of the Gradebook tab
  • Click Next
  • Click Next
  • Click Done
  • Add Students - Under the PrepareClasses and Students tab
  • Click your class name jtravis Camp
  • Click NewStudent
  • Type Student First Name, Last Name, Pad ID, Student ID (this can be lunch number at school)
  • Use the arrow keys to move around in the database
  • Break
  • Create a Lesson - Prepare Lessons and Assessments tab
  • Select Elementary Summer Camp
  • Click New Lesson
  • Add a Lesson Title (All others are optional)
  • Today we are going to fill out all information
  • Click Ok
  • Create Questions (A B C D format MC4)
  • Click on the Lesson Title on in the left pane
  • Click New Question
  • Preview the lesson options
  • Add the Question
  • Add Possible Answers
  • Check the box of the correct answer
  • Click Save
  • Click New to add another question
  • Continue this process until you have 10 questions (Question numbers are listed on the title bar of the window)
  • Click Save and Close
  • Create Questions (T F format)
  • Click on the Lesson Title on the left pane
  • Use the drop down menu to choose T/F
  • Add the Question
  • Type True in the First Response
  • Type False in the Second Response
  • Continue this process until you have 3 more questions
  • Click Save and Close
  • Create Question (Multiple Choice 3)
  • Click on the Lesson Title on the left pane
  • Use the drop down menu to choose MC3
  • Continue this process to create 3 more questions
  • Click Save and Close
  • Create Question (Multiple Choice 2)
  • Use the drop down menu to choose MC2
  • Continue this process to create 2 more questions
  • Click Save and close
  • Create Question with Images (Multiple Choice 3)
  • Use the drop down menu to choose MC3
  • Choose TemplateAdd GraphicsAnswer Graphics
  • Right Click in the Image areaChoose Browse
  • Browse under CCPS DatabasesImage LibraryClipart or Photo LibraryClick the thumbnail iconchoose a picture or clipart
  • Click Save
  • Add another question with an image changing fonts this time
  • Click Save and Close
  • Create Question with Images where the image appears after the question
  • Choose TemplateAdd GraphicsQuestion Graphic Right
  • Right Click in the image areaChoose Browse
  • Browse for a picture for the question
  • Choose EngageShow Question Image After Response
  • Click Preview to see how the question will be presented
  • Click Save and Close
  • Create four more questions of your choice
  • Click Save and close

  • Importing Standards
  • Click PrepareStandards
  • Click ImportClick BrowseBrowse to C:\CPS_Databases\Standards
  • Click the standards click open
  • Check the checkbox to the left of the standards you choose to import
  • Click Ok
  • Repeat for each set of standards
  • Add Standards to the questions in the previous lesson
  • Click on the Lesson and Assessments Tab
  • Double click on each question and associate a standard with each of the 25 questions.
  • Click Question Standards
  • Add the standard, click save, click the right arrow to go to the next question
  • You may also add a difficulty level, category, or notes and media to each question
  • Find 10 to 20 Questions on the Internet, Think Central, or from a textbook
  • Create a FastGrade Lesson
  • Have a hard copy of a lesson available
  • Click PrepareLessons and Assessments
  • Select the database
  • Choose NewFastGrade Lesson
  • Title the Lesson
  • Add Standards
  • Click the answers for each question
  • Create a New Question using the chalk board function
  • Choose TemplateChalkboard
  • Create a Challenge Board using one of the lessons already created
  • Click Challenge
  • New Activity
  • Type a Title
  • Add Categories
  • Choose Lessons or Standards
  • Highlight questions and click and drag to each point category
  • Another Method is to Drag an entire lesson to a category by clicking and dragging to the category title

  • Create a PowerPoint using COS Objectives from your subject/grade level
  • Save the PowerPoint to the Flash Drive

  • Import the PowerPoint Presentation
  • Go to PrepareLessons and Assessments
  • Choose the Lesson where the PowerPoint should be (If there’s not one create it first)
  • Click Add FilesClick Open
  • Create 25 questions in your grade level/subject area with graphics
  • If graphics are not available for each question download pictures or clipart from online and save them in C:\CPS_Databases

  • Click Add Files
  • Locate the file by going to C:\ExamView\Banks
  • Double Click the folder for your import (there may be an English and Spanish version choose English)
  • Select the first file hold shift and select the last file
  • Click Open
  • Everyone will create a lesson
  • The lesson must be in your grade level/subject area
  • Choose what type of lesson
  • Choose how you will engage the lesson
  • I will take your controller and you will present the lesson you created

  • Change the Files of Type to CXM
  • Browse to the file you would like to import
  • Click the file
  • Click Open
  • The file will begin to import
