Easter Everywhere
Rabbits soft and cuddly
Baby chickens, too.
Easter eggs for baskets
White and pink and blue.
Easter cards of greeting,
Music in the air,
Lilies just to tell us
It’s Easter everywhere.
Some Things That Easter Brings
Easter duck and Easter chick,
Easter eggs with chocolate thick.
Easter hats for one and all,
Easter Bunny comes to call!
Happy Easter always brings
Such a lot of pleasant things.
”Good Mother Hen”
Good mother hen sits here on her nest,
Keeps the eggs warm beneath her soft breast,
Waiting, waiting day after day.
Hark! There’s a sound she knows well.
Some little chickens are breaking the shell.
Pecking, pecking, pecking away.
Now they are all out. Oh, what a crowd!
Good mother hen is happy and proud,
Cluck-cluck, cluck-cluck, clucking away.
“Duck Family”
Father Duck goes for a swim
Mother Duck comes out with him
And behind them, nice and clean,
Seven yellow ducklings swim.
Seven little yellow balls
“Quack, quack, quack” the mother calls.
What a pretty sight they make
Swimming on the lake.
“A BUNNY WHO IS FUNNY”
(by Susan Olson Higgins)
I know an Easter bunny
Who is, oh, so funny…
He stands six feet tall,
His whiskers curl around,
His ears stand high
At the slightest sound.
He wears a green vest
And a pink bow tie.
If he flaps his ears…
You should see him fly!
He can bend and twist
Into any shape at all.
He can hop or skip
Or curl up like a ball.
He has a gold watch
Which he keeps very near,
But he only has use for it
In Spring each year.
And as for eggs…
Well, he has lots.
All children want
What he has got!
He is very, very clever,
And as quick as can be.
I hope he never, NEVER
Stops visiting me!
