Eagle Fire Department Members Association Inc. Scholarship Program

The purpose of the Eagle Fire Department Scholarship is to award a scholarship to an individual who meets the following criteria: is a graduating senior from an accredited secondary school private school, or a recognized home school program, who will be attending a college, university or technical school in pursuit of an advanced degree, preferably in, but not limited to, the Protective Services (Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service, Nursing).

Applicant Requirements:

  • Must be a graduating High School Senior in 2018who resides in the Eagle Fire Department service area.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Complete and submit a scholarship award application
  • Submit official school transcript with GPA, official transcript of ACT and/or SAT score
  • Submit 3 letters of recommendation (No friends, family or relatives)
  • Submit completed essay
  • Provide proof of enrollment in College, University, or Technical School for minimum of an Associate’s degree in the disciplines described above for the fall semester of 2018 classes by August 1, 2018.

Recipient Selection:

A panel of two Association officers and one board Director from the Eagle Fire Department Members Association Inc. will evaluate and review all applications and will provide the Association membership with a non-binding recommendation of the top three candidates. The members of the Eagle Fire Department Members Association Inc. will make the final decision on the scholarship winner at the May 2018 business meeting. The recipient will be contacted the following business day and the scholarship will be awarded at either an Honors Banquet or graduation ceremony, whichever comes first.

Scholarship:

Amount of Scholarship: One (1) - $500 (More than one scholarship may be awarded in any one year.)

Instructions & Requirements to Apply For the Scholarship

  • The applicant must complete the scholarship application. Application should be typed.
  • Attach a signed transcript reflecting GPA from the school counselor.
  • Attach a copy of ACT and/or SAT report/score.
  • Attach three written letters of recommendation.
  • Attach completed essay.

Prior to rendering a final decision, the Eagle Fire Department Members Association Inc. reserves the right to:

  • Contact any and all references submitted by scholarship applicant.
  • Conduct a personal interview with scholarship applicant finalists.

Failure to complete any of the listed requirements will disqualify the applicant.

If chosen to receive the scholarship, proof of enrollment must be submitted to the Eagle Fire Department by August 1, 2018. Failure to enroll by this date in a college, university or technical school in an approved course of study leading to a degree will result in forfeiture of the scholarship. Upon forfeiture, the scholarship will be awarded to the next runner up.

Scholarship funds will be paid to the recipient prior to the first semester. Proof of enrollment should be sent to the Eagle Fire Department Members Association Inc. at the address below.
