Job Purpose

Operate and monitor FDBK utilities including clean GMP systems, at all times maintaining a high level of system availability. Perform basic routine maintenance of these systems.

Dimensions

1. A substantial part of the role will be working alone on site, therefore, self-management skills are needed. The work pattern involves 24/7 shift working through most of the year, but the individual may be required to work days during planned maintenance shutdown periods. The individual must have strong interpersonal skills which will enable him/her to communicate effectively.

2. The individual will demonstrate the ability to diagnose and solve routine maintenance issues. They will be able to apply measurement and charting techniques as part of structured improvement projects and use lean tools to organise their workspace.

3. The individual will possess a strong EHS and quality compliance ethos.

4. The individual will be experienced in the use of Permit to Work systems within a process plant environment. Experience as a user of a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) is essential.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Operate and monitor all FFDB utilities including clean GMP systems, including the following:

a)  ABC5000, ABC1000 and MCC clean utilities.

b)  Autoclaves and washers in ABC1000 and ABC5000.

c)  Site boilers and air compressors.

d)  Site waste and effluent systems, including arranging export by tanker.

2. Issue and accept permits to work for the FFDB site primarily outside of normal site working hours.

3. Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.

4. Respond to autodialler alarms across FFDB site.

5. Apply yellow belt level problem solving skills to operational issues within the utilities areas.

6. Operate compliantly (SHE & GMP) conforming to relevant regulatory systems and raising events/deviations where necessary.

7. Perform fault diagnosis, maintenance and servicing work safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturers' instructions. Read and extract information from engineering drawings, specification diagrams and maintenance manuals.

8. Prepare the work area for maintenance of plant, systems or components. Reinstate the work area after completing the maintenance of plant, systems and components. Conduct safe and effective hand over of plant and equipment to others and accept and confirm responsibility for the control of plant and equipment within the work area isolation boundary.

9. Use site cGMP systems and the SAP system to ensure all maintenance documentation is completed and archived in accordance with site procedures.

10. Use the Engineering planning system, report progress and give accurate updates to engineering colleagues daily.

11. Any other duties commensurate with the job grade.

Special Features

The post holder will typically have a background in Mechanical, Instrument or Electrical maintenance in a GMP environment. They will have completed an approved craft apprenticeship course (typically to NVQ level 3) or have obtained an equivalent academic qualification, and demonstrate practical training and experience in maintenance and servicing. Electrical technicians will meet the requirements of the electrotechnical certification scheme (ECS) gold card.
