Youth Football
With summer approaching we know it is hard to think about planning for next fall, but for your child there is a great opportunity coming…., youth football!! Your Maple River Youth Football Association has numerous football opportunities for your child based on their school grade level:
2nd & 3rd Grades: These students are able to participate in our Saturday Morning Flag Football Camp held on the practice fields by the bus garage in Mapleton. This camp runs for 5 consecutive Saturdays and gives the participants fundamental instruction, action packed flag football games, and a campT-shirt. Participants will be instructed by our own Maple River varsity football team. These young players are eager to help build future MapleRiver teams. COST $40.00
4th , 5th, & 6th Grade: These students play in the SCYFL (South Central Youth Football League) again this year. We are excited to continue with this league after getting positive feedback last year. We will have a 7 game schedule with both home and away games. (Home games will be played on the Varsity’s game field) Games are played Saturdays beginning August 24thwith practices held each week starting after gear handout. COST $60.00 (Jersey is additional $30.00 for any 1st year player or anyone who outgrew theirs.) Cost increase due to Community Ed fee.
***Equipment hand-out will be held on Tuesday, August 6that the Football Complex: 6th grade at 5:00pm; 5th grade at 5:30pm; and 4th grade at 6:00 p.m.
***SCYFA Jamboreewill be held onSaturday, August 17th in Madelia. This will include weigh ins, scrimmages, concessions and photographs. Maple River Youth will again be included in our 7-12th grade Football Jamboree on Thursday, August 22nd.
****PLEASE NOTE: We have never refused any player who signs up late, but there will be a $10 late fee imposed. Please sign up by June 1st to avoid this additional fee. Thank you!
