MEETING MINUTES

Meeting called to order by President Cheryl Brantner - 5:14 pm

Committee Reports
Funfest: Great Turnout and good response to bands. Cherry Gun is booked for Friday of next year. Stipe carnival will continue next year. Idea of having a Happy Hour on Friday to bring more people to the beer tent and music is being considered. Parade was good but “pooper scoopers” need to be enforced for all riders.
Crazee Daze: Is on and will be July 28th. 8 am – 3:30 pm and flyers have been passed out. There will be the craft/vendor show in Washington Square and in the Masonic Lodge.
Business Expo: Business Expo is set for October 20, 2016 at the Durand Masonic Hall Fliers to Sarah and Cheryl and will be sent out to DIG Members e-mail list. Logos can be sent to Martha at the radio station. Letters will be sent out also allowing memberships to be gotten for the rest of the year and for 2017.
Music in the Park: First was well attended and the next is on July 27th. Jim will be on WRDN on July 22 to promote the show - Biesterveld. Raffle: Kim from Batters and Bowls and Martha from WRDN worked the raffle at MITP. Jill Leonard won for the raffle. Next MITP will be worked by Cheryl, Tiffany and Vickie.
Dazzle Day: Theme for this year will be “Christmas on the Farm”. Grand Marshall needs to be chosen. Bring names of past marshals to meeting plus suggestions of new ones. Sarah has letter ready for this year's parade.
OLD BUSINESS
Halloween and Holiday Decorating: Letters are in process of being written and will be sent. Halloween events have not been planned and other organizations will be contacted to collaborate with each other to plan and host the event.
The same collaboration will be implemented for Holiday Decorating.
Amazon Smile: Cheryl will be sharing instructions on how members can use that when purchasing on Amazon. She will be checking on the balance of monies received so far to DIG
NEW BUSINESS
DIG SCHOLARSHIP: Because DIG is showing a balance, the idea of DIG having a scholarship was presented, $100.00 per year given to a DHS student. Criteria will be set at a different meeting.
DISSOLUTION STATEMENT: Resolution statement needs to be made for 501c3 status where funds will be distributed if group dissolves. Needs to be done to meet requirements for Insurance to maintain Non-Profit status. Will be discussed at another meeting
PAVILLION: Idea of a pavilion or gazebo for Riverview park with some picnic tables. Funds will be set aside for this project. City needs to be contacted if it is possible and location of where things can be placed.

HIDDEN TREASURES: Ad for the Fall thru November issue to advertise DIG events. $200 for the ad.

BIKE TRAIL: Check on conditions and use status due to the recent flooding and storms. Will announce on the radio and put info on Facebook page
MEMBERSHIP: New membership from GOP of Pepin County – Bronze membership.
