Minutes of the Board of Education Meeting held Monday, November 8, 2010.

The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. in the Central Office by President Kinsey.
AGENDA
It was moved by Geigerand seconded by Tharman to approve the agenda as presented. Motion Carried.
MOMENT OF SILENCE
The Board of Education took a moment of silence to reflect on all the servicemen home and abroad serving our country at this time.
MINUTES
It was moved by Tharman and seconded by Weber to approve the minutes of the October 11, 2010 meeting. Motion Carried.
VOUCHERS AND BILLS
It was moved by Weishaar and seconded Grable to approve the vouchers and bills as presented. Motion Carried.
VISITORS:
KASB DELEGATE
It was moved by Weber and seconded by Tharman to appoint Nathan Geiger as the Kansas Association of School Boards Delegate. Motion Carried.
Facilities Update
The custodial shed at the high school is being completed. The industrial arts classes are beginning the insulation. The backstop at the practice field is completed. The new white letters on the bleachers were finished on Friday, November 5th. Mrs. King discussed the erosion by the transformers at the high school
Mr. Cash gave the Board of Education calendar updates, attendance numbers from the parent/teacher conferences, all league selections, and an update on the SADD group of Troy High School working with other high schools in Doniphan County on a S.A.F.E. program with the intent of increasing seatbelt use.
Mrs. King invited the Board of Education to the elementary on Thursday, November 11th for the Veteran’s Day Assembly at 10 a.m. Mrs. King gave an update from the technology department. The technology committee is updating the technology plan.
Mr. Kinsey excused himself from the meeting at 7:40 p.m.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
It was moved by Weberand seconded by Smith to go into executive session for a period of 25 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel matters in order to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion Carried.
REMAINING: Board, Superintendent, and Principal
Returned to regular session at 8:05p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at8:07p.m.
