Development Coordinator, AmeriCorps Alums – Full Time

The ideal candidate is an alumni of AmeriCorps with experience and passion for sales, fundraising, partnership building, communications, and project management. This position requires effectively engaging in cross-functional projects and teams, being highly-effective in independent work, and eagerly pursuing scale and impact.The Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for bringing in new, and managing existing, partnerships with colleges, universities and employers who engage in our earned income partnership model of virtual graduate school and career fairs. This position will also support other fundraising efforts including supporting foundation, corporate and individual giving donor cultivation and management.

We are organized into three divisions: Programs, Civic Incubator and Action Networks, which includes AmeriCorps Alums.

Position Responsibilities

The Development Coordinator reports directly to the Co-Executive Director and works with Alumsteam members on a daily basis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Secure new sponsorships and maintain existing relationships across a portfolio of colleges/universities and employers (companies, nonprofits, government agencies) that are served by the AmeriCorps Alums virtual fairs.
  • Coordinate the execution of six virtual fee-for-service events per year, while working closely with our technology partner
  • Provide high-quality client services and fulfillment for events and partners
  • Collaborate with AmeriCorps Alums and Points of Light team memberson variety of cross-functional projects
  • Utilize data and analytics to seek constant improvement of all the organizations virtual programming
  • Support the Co-Executive Directors in additional activities, including research, prospecting, drafting of communications and other materials, or other duties as assigned to support the team

Qualifications

  • Team Collaboration & Leadership: demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and customer orientation; values individual perspectives and encourages sharing of information and ideas; is able to work as both a team member and independent leader
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant professional or volunteer experience including sales, marketing, project management, and client services; previous experience partnering with colleges and universities is a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel, and Outlook), knowledge of email marketing solutions and data bases is preferred.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and creative approach to strategy development
  • A commitment to community service, national service, equity, and to getting things done for America
  • AmeriCorps alum with in-depth understanding of AmeriCorps and national service preferred
