Following on from the corporate services data template Operational Productivity circulated on Friday 23 September, we have had a series of questions from trusts asking how to fill in the template and flagging some confusion over which data to use. Some trusts have also pointed out errors coming up in the template’s macros.
Because of these macro errors, we will be circulating an updated corporate services template on Thursday 29 September which will have amended all of these errors.
In the below FAQ, we’ve addressed all the questions we’ve received from the trusts regarding the macro errors. Please continue to collate all the data required to fill in this template as the answers below should clear up any confusion around which data to include due to our macro errors.
This should ease filling in the updated corporate services template which we will circulate on Thursday.
The template should be filled in 2015-16 data.The deadline for returns is 7 October.
Q1. The front sheet states a return date of 14 October, however the email sent refers to 7 October, please confirm which is correct.
A1. 7th October is correct – we will amend date with a macro fix
Q2.Each sheet asks for Qualified/Unqualified/Studying. Please clarify for each area which qualifications we are measuring against.
A2.Finance - ACA, ACCA, CIMA – have AAT as studying
HR - Certificate in Personnel Practice
Procurement – Chartered Institute of Procurement
Payroll - Chartered Institute for payroll or ACA, ACCA, CIMA – have AAT as studying
Q3.Finance: Could more of the column referring to External Audit be greyed out please, by definition these are outsourced etc.
A3. The rest of the cells will be greyed out as part of the macro fix.
Q4.Finance: The formula in cell F59 is incorrect.
A4. Formula is G113/G137 and needs to be replaced with H105/H133. The macros fix will change this.
Q5. Payroll: Some dropdown boxes don’t appear to be working (no answers) for example cells C46, C109 & C112.
A5. C46, C109, C112, C115 will be amended to have ‘yes/no’ drop downs within the macro fix.
Q6.Finance: Total of the whole time equivalent does not add up in cells N120, N121, N122, N125, N126 & N127
A6. Cells add column C to column J – macro fix will amend to add column C to column M
Q7. Finance: In the finance tab, the cell G55 is adding up incorrectly.
A7. Cell formula is K113/F43 macro fix will amend to L113/F43
Q8.Informatics tab cells I119 to I126 aren’t correct, they are failing to sum column H.
A8. Cells add column C to column G – macro fix will amend to add column C to column H
Q9a.Where the template asks for a figure “at a point in time”, it is stating 31/3/2015. Is this really what you require or should it be 31/3/2016?
A9: The date should be 31/3/16. Macrofix will amend.
