Scholarship

  • The scholarship is valued at $500.00per year for four year university or two year community college provided the student continues to meet eligibility requirements. (Maximum scholarship will be $2,000 spread over 4 years or $1,000 spread over 2 years.)
  • Applications are due to Murphy Brown on or before April 1, 2015. The recipients will be named after May 1, 2015.
  • Preference is given to students of Murphy Brown Employees and Growers; and students who have participated in the Murphy Brown internship program.

Eligibility

Scholarships are awarded to rising college freshmen whodemonstrate:

  • The intention to pursue a career in agriculture or agriculture- related field
  • Satisfactory grades (at least a GPA of 2.5 and must maintain in Major-Ag related of 3.0)
  • Leadership potential (based on extra-curricular, work experience)
  • An evident understanding of the agricultural and/or agribusiness community shown through agricultural pathway in school and/or work experience

Application Process

  1. Scholarship Applications are due to Murphy Brown, LLC by April 1, 2015. (Late applications will not be accepted.)
  1. Completed applications should include the attached form, copy of high school transcript and at least one letter of recommendation from a Teacher, Guidance Counselor, or Employer.
  1. Scholarship Selection committee names recipients by May 15, 2015.
  1. Scholarship recipients will need to submit an annual grade report to Murphy Brown, LLC at the end of each semester in order to continue yearly scholarship allotments.
  1. The scholarship payment will only be sent to the university /college the student is attending to be credited to the students account.
