COMMUNICATIONS DISPATCHER
Paratransit, Inc. is now accepting applications for a full-time Communications Dispatcher. This positiondispatches and monitors vehicle operators, route assignments and schedules, transmits and monitors radio communications in both routine and emergency situations, responds to calls for service using the latest highly technical automated software technology –Trapeze Scheduling Software, along with MDC (Mobile Data computer) on our vehicles. Most tasks will be of a confidential nature. The schedule will be five days per week,8 hours per day working hours will be between (4:30 am- 1:30 am) including weekends with two consecutive weekdays off. This position is considered safety-sensitive subject to Paratransit’s drug and alcohol testing program. Applications will be accepted through Friday, March 2, 2018. Shift hours and days off may vary and are subject to change as determined necessary by Paratransit, Inc. Management.Two week’s notice will be given in the event of shift changes or changes in scheduled days off.
The minimum qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- An excellent knowledge and familiarity of Sacramento County
- Prefer one year dispatch experience.
- Ability to work and act professionally and cohesively in a shared work environment/strong team player qualities
- Ability to work under strict time constraints, prioritize working tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong computer and organizational skills
- Outstanding problem-solving and customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written form
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience working with people with disabilities
- Knowledge of Sacramento County geography, including city street systems, local landmarks, and peak traffic times and patterns.

Salary:
The starting salary is $14.50 per hour. This position includes a benefits package.
