Opera Email Client configuration

Step 1

Launch Opera from Finder.

Step 2

From the OperaMenuat the top-left corner of the window, selectMail and Chat Accounts.

Select Menu > Mail and Chat Accounts

Step 3

If this is your first time adding a mail account to Opera, you are prompted to create a new account. Click theYesbutton.
If you already have a mail account configured in Opera, the Manage Accounts window will open and you will have to click the Add button.

Click Yes

Step 4

SelectEmailas the type of account you would like to add and click theNextbutton.

Select Email and click Next

Step 5

• Enter your name in theReal nametext box. This is the name that others will see when receiving your mail.
• Enter yourfull 1&1 e-mail addressin the Email address text box.
• Enter an Organization name if applicable. Otherwise leave the text box blank.
• Click theNextbutton to continue.

Enter the appropriate information and click Next

Step 6

• Enter yourfull 1&1 e-mail addressin the Login name text box.
• Enter your1&1 e-mail account's passwordin the Password text box.
• Select thePOPradio button.
• Click theNextbutton to proceed.

Enter the appropriate information and click Next

Step 7

• Enterpop.1and1.comin the Incoming server text box.
• Check the box forUse secure connection (TLS).
• Entersmtp.1and1.comin the Outgoing server text box.
• Check the box forUse secure connection (TLS).

Click theFinishbutton to complete the e-mail account setup.

Enter the appropriate information and click Finish

Step 8

TheMailsidebar should open in the Opera window and your newly added 1&1 e-mail account should be listed in the sidebar. Click the account to view the e-mail folders such as the Inbox.

You are now connected to your e-mail account

Optional: Enabling SSL for incoming mail

Step 1

From the OperaMenuat the top-left corner of the window, selectMail and Chat Accounts.

Select Menu > Mail and Chat Accounts

Step 2

Select your 1&1 e-mail account from the list and click theEditbutton.

Select your e-mail account and click Edit

Step 3

In the new window that opens, select theServerstab.

Select Servers

Step 4

For the Incoming POP server, enterPort number 995and selectSecure Connection (TLS).

Click theOKbutton to save your changes.

Enter the appropriate information and click OK

Step 5

Click theClosebutton to close the Manage Accounts window.

Click Close

Step 6

Click theCheck/Sendbutton in the Mail sidebar in Opera to check and send your mail securely.

Click Check/Send
