Who is CAPA? CapitalAreaPurchasing Association, CAPA for short,wascharteredin1978 by the National Institute of Government Purchasing, NIGP. We currentlyboastamembershipinexcessof300memberswithanarrayofnon-member affiliates who are procurement or supply management professionals throughouttheCommonwealth ofVirginia.OneofCAPA’smainobjectivesistoestablish cooperative relationships amongprocurement individualsforthedevelopment ofefficientand effectivepurchasingmethodsandpracticesinthefieldofeducational,governmentalandpublic institutionalprocurement.TheFallConferenceisdesignedtopromote,educateandmaintain Purchasingprofessionalism andproficiencyinthefieldofpublicsectorpurchasingandmaterial management.ThisisalsoanopportunityforCAPAmembersandgueststomeetwithvendors oneonone in a relaxed atmosphere to network with each other.

This year CAPAwillbehostingourannualFallConferenceand VendorExpositiononFriday,September21,2018. ThisConferenceprovidescompanies a chance to meet the procurement professionals they interact with fromvariousStateandLocalGovernment Agencies,PublicSchools,Healthcare Professions,HigherEducation,andmanyotherentitiesthroughouttheCommonwealth of Virginia. You presence lets these professionals know you support their mission and are willing to work with them.

Participationatourannual FallConferencereachesapproximately140+professional attendees,thisincludesthevendorexpositionthatshowcases local, MicroandSmall,WomenandMinority (SWaM)Businesses,ContractandNon-ContractVendorsand Nationally-Recognized Companies.

The Sponsorship information is attached with information for each level and benefits offered to our vendors. All monies help to support the continued Education and Training of the CAPA members that contributes to providing excellent customer service and the aptitude to offer numerous business opportunities to its vendors.

For those vendors who are not able to sponsor a table and in anefforttocelebrate the hardworkanddedicationof our procurementprofessionals,CAPA is respectfully requesting adonationofanysupplies or promotional items such as pens, pencils, notepads, cups, trinkets, etc. to help support this event andto be handed out to the participantsoftheConference. Companies are also encouraged to submit line cards or company brochures/flyers to be placed in the conference bags that will be handed out to all attendees of conference.
