A driving clinic with Terry Arcand-Olmstead
When: Saturday, June 20, 2015 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
Where: 2950 County Road 20, Kemptville, Ontario
Dust off your harness and cart and plan to attend this years EOMHC driving clinic. Increase your driving skills and improve your horses’ performance for both pleasure and show.
The clinic will cover safe harnessing and hitching, types of carts and harness, and show ring etiquette, as well as individual instruction with you and your horse.
Individual instruction for horse and driver will be available in half hour increments. Book early as spaces are limited and filling fast. Instruction is available for all levels of experience for both horse and driver. From starting your horse in ground driving to fine tuning your performance driving, all are welcome.
BBQ lunch is available (included in cost of clinic for driving participants)
Lots of space to drive and warm up, including cones and obstacles to work with
The day will end with group work on cones … learn some strategies to improve your skill and times.

EOMHC members $35.00 (includes hotdog/hamburger and drink)
Non-members $40.00 (includes hotdog/hamburger and drink)

Clinic Schedule –
0800 – 0845 - Group lecture on safe harnessing and hitching, types of harness, types of carts, show ring rules and etiquette (IAW AMHR rule book)
Individual driving – half hour intervals starting at 0900. Please have your horse hitched and warmed up ready to go by your posted start time. A warm up area will be designated for drivers waiting to enter the ring.
Lunch break will be from 12:15 – 12:45. The club will be providing a BBQ meal for clinic participants. Please indicate your choice of hotdog or hamburger. Water and pop will be available as well.
Individual driving will continue at 12:45.
4:00 – Cones instruction – group driving
Please note that a cones course will be available, as well as some obstacles to school your horse with, separate from the clinic area. Drivers are responsible for the care and safety of their horses and equipment at all times.
