Program Support Secretary A

Selection/Screening Criteria

Minimum Education

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school.

Experience

At least four years of administrative support experience where use of a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc., or to enter/retrieve/update information is an essential part of the work, including at least two years equivalent to experienced E7-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary 7, or Legal Secretary 7.

Experience in the following areas is desired:

Electronic bill paying systems such as the Michigan Accounting Information Network (MAIN)

Electronic time keeping systems such as the State of Michigan’s Data Collection Distribution System (DCDS)

Human resource systems such as the State of Michigan’s Human Resource Management Network (HRMN)

Report development such as Business Objects

Additional abilities:

Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines.

Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with the public and coworkers, in person, on the phone and in written format.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel required, Access preferred).

Proficiency in the use of email and internet resources.

Ability to work as an effective team member.
