THE UNITY METHODIST CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP
- General Information
The Unity Methodist Church of Warsaw has established a one-time scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior of Duplin County Schools.
The scholarship will be for a value of $1,000. Once the student has been selected for the scholarship, the student must complete a Scholarship Verification form and send copies to the Duplin County Education Foundation and the attending college. Upon verification of enrollment and documentation of expenses by the College, the Foundation will submit payment in the amount of the $1,000.
- Application Procedures:
- Any senior graduating from Duplin County Schools who meets the criteria may make application. Applications for the Unity Methodist Church Scholarship may be obtained from the school principal, school counselor or online at
- The application must be completed and returned to the principal, school counselor or Director of Support Services by the announced deadline.
- Rank in class, overall grades and participation in extra-curricular activities will be a consideration.
- Two letters of recommendation must accompany the application when it is submitted. No recommendation should be submitted by a relative.
- One letter should be from an individual who is not school connected.
- One letter should be from a teacher who taught the student during high school.
- Selection Procedures:
- The Unity Methodist Church Scholarship recipient will be determined by the Duplin County Education Foundation Scholarship Committee.
- The award will be presented at the M. Austin Carter Academic Award Celebrations. Student applicants are asked to be present at the celebration.
