Samuel Chapman’s will dated April 23, 1773 in Ameilai Co.,VA stated that he came from Caroline Co.,VA. Based on that information a trip to Caroline Co. Courthouse was not productive since records were destroyed when the original courthouse was burned during the Civil War. The following information was obtained Aug. 21, 1992 by Al Chapman,CFA #006 while visiting the National Genealogical Society, Glebe House in Arlington, VA- 4527 17st St. 222207-2399- Ph (703)-525-0050-They had some Order Books from Court House at Caroline Co.
In addition to Chapman's info there was a Samuel Coleman and several Pickett's-James Pickett and John Jr. Pickett and wife Mary
