Traditions Scholarship

2016 Fact Sheet

Established by Allen and Libby Blair, this scholarship will be awarded to a senior who upholds the traditions set by their children – Amy, Catherine and David, proud graduates of North Kansas City High School. Applicants must exemplify leadership and athleticism through participation in school activities and sports, and show a commitment to the community through volunteerism. They also must plan to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Deadline: Thursday, March 31, 2016

Number of Recipients: One

Scholarship Amount: $1,000

Eligibility: 1) You must be a graduating senior in North Kansas City High

School’s Class of 2016.

2) You must plan to pursue a degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

3) You must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher during your high school career.

4) You must have participated in at least 3 school activities and earned at least one varsity letter in a school sport.

5) You actively engage in volunteer activities in the community.

Required Documents: 1) Completed scholarship application

2) Official Grade Transcript, with ACT scores included, indicating at least a 3.2 GPA

Process: The selection committee, consisting of Blair Family members, will review applications and select a recipient who will be recognized during the Senior Honors Program held in May.

Payment: Payment will be made directly to the University of Missouri-Columbia, pending submission of a copy of the recipient’s letter of acceptance and student identification number. The recipient must complete a minimum of one year at MU. If not completed, the $1,000 must be returned to the North Kansas City Schools Education Foundation, which holds the funds for the Blair Family Traditions Scholarship.

Please include the application form and all supporting materials in one envelope and mail or deliver by 3 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016, to the Counseling Office at North Kansas City High School.
