Milan Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, January 9th, 2018
7:00 p.m.
Acting Mayor Merle Hilden called the monthly meeting to order on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Milan Community Hall.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Present: Ronald Anderson, Merle Hilden, Josh Vetter, Heidi Hanson and Jim Anderson
Also Present: Matthew Anderson, John Vetter and Randy Fragodt
Motion was made by Council member Anderson, seconded by council member Vetter to approve December 5, 2017 meeting minutes. Motion passed unanimously.
Jim Nelson was absent. No report given.
Concerns of Public:
Matthew Anderson would like to purchase part of the lot next to him. Council discussed this at a previous meeting and was decided that it would be sold for $1300.00 with the stipulation of a building would need to be built with in the first 2 years of ownership or the lot would be bought back by the City. Matthew stated that he would get back to the council when he has the loan in place to purchase the lot.
Fire department member John Vetter and Randy Fragodt came to deliver an update on the possible fire hall addition. Council had advised them to look at possible grants; on grant in specific from Bremer Bank.
Old Business:
RLF reports were reviewed.
The security camera on the storage shed and water plant should go up within the next two weeks. This would make all cameras up and running.
No news on Snap ed and the Bush Grant.
Matt Gilbertson has talked to the county board about the paperwork found that deems them responsible for the bike trail. They will be looking into options for the Trial.
Fire Contracts are up for renewal starting April 1, 2018. Motion was made by council member Anderson, seconded by council member Vetter to approve section rate to increase to $160.00 and to host township meeting on February 15, 2018 at 5:30 with the meal catered by The Pantry out of Madison. Motion passed unanimously.
New Business:
Motion was made by council member Vetter, seconded by council member Hilden to approve Resolution R1-18A designated officials. Motion passed unanimously.
Motion was made by council member Vetter, seconded by council member Anderson to approve donation of $300.00 to MN Prairie Waters. Motion passed unanimously.
Before payment is made to Daniel Loose for the Gopher trapping in Lions Park; he will need to appear at a council meeting to answer a few questions.
Motion was made by council member Vetter, seconded by council member Hanson to approve the Retirement amount for Fire Department members to $750.00 for each year of service. Motion passed unanimously.
Motion was made by council member Anderson, seconded by council member Hanson to approve ACH bills totaling $64,381.40. Motion passed unanimously.
Motion was made by council member Vetter, seconded by council member Hanson to approve monthly bills totaling $34,888.24. Motion passed unanimously.
Motion was made by council member Anderson, seconded by council member Vetter to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
