Each item in the survey provides an assessment of a participants’knowledge, implementation and beliefs related to learning targets (See D(3) for specific learning targets).
Social Emotional Engagement – Knowledge and Skills – Rating Form & Instruction Rubrics
(Before Words, Emerging Language, and Conversational Language) / B3, B5, C1, D1, D2, D4 / Rating will be conducted by Emily Rubin, the Lead Trainer, and Wilda Pipkin (from the State DOE SPDG staff) to ensure inter-rated reliability with at least 20% of samples. / Onsite and video based observation collected at pre- and post and on monthly intervals with each of the 18 targeted classrooms. / SEE-KS Rating Form will be scored according to the criterion in the Instruction Rubric appropriate to the developmental stage of student at the earliest developmental stage in a target classroom to ensure that all students have critical accommodations.
Social Emotional Engagement – Knowledge and Skills – Coaching Form / C1, D1, D2 / Lead coach and DOE – SPDG coach in collaboration with district and target classroom teams. / Monthly / Coaching forms will be completed with active engagement of the core teams in each district and targeted classrooms to model the process of appreciative inquiry and collaborative problem solving for next steps.
Student Engagement Ladder / B3, D2, D4 / Rating will be conducted by Emily Rubin, the Lead Trainer, and Wilda Pipkin (from the State DOE - SPDG staff) to ensure inter-rated reliability with at least 20% of samples. / Onsite and video based observation collected at pre- and post - with each of the 18 targeted classrooms. / This tool provides a measure of the engagement level of all of the students in the classroom, by determining if their engagement levels are: fully, mostly, partly, fleeting, or no focus.
Student Engagement Profile / B3, D2, D4 / Rating will be conducted by Emily Rubin, the Lead Trainer, and Wilda Pipkin (from the State DOE – SPDG staff) to ensure inter-rated reliability with at least 20% of samples. / Onsite and video based observation collected at pre- and post - with a focus student in each of the 18 targeted classrooms. / This tool provides a measure of a focus student with respect to his or her progress in the following areas: awareness, curiosity, investigation, discovery, anticipation, persistence, and initiation.
Evaluation of professional learning targets (pre- and post) / B4, D4 / DOE staff / Pre- and post for each structured, large group training, including: 9/26 – Forsyth, 10/2 - Macon, and 10/3 – Effingham, and 11/7 (web-based for all regions). / This tool will provide a measure of participants’ growth toward critical learning targets (e.g., identifying social emotional priorities and critical UDL accommodations).
