Position Overview:Under direct supervision of Director of Programs, the Program Assistant will assist with all FREC (Food Resource & Education Center) duties as directed (ie: pulling/receiving orders, cleaning, facility upkeep, inventory movement, volunteer/sort room assisting, pantry food management and volunteer assisting). This position works cohesively with the Volunteer Coordinator and Pantry Manager but reports to the Director of Programs and COO.

Essential Job Functions

•Perform manual labor such as truck loading/unloading, inventory movement

•Inspection, identification, and delivery of product to proper storage locations

•Maintains flow of product thru the building areas as needed

•Follow specified processes for disbursing food, managing inventory, and all required paperwork

•Represents the organization to volunteers, associates, and senior leadership as needed

•Accurate data entry of weight and inventory movement and/or maintenance information

•General facility maintenance duties

•Ability to pass Food Bank Food Safety course and apply knowledge on the job

•Legal operation of Food Finder vehicles

•Ability to accurately fill out all required paperworkie: temp logs, pest control log, cleaning checklists

Non-essential Job Functions

•Assist with inventory

•Assist with yard work/snow removal

Requirements

•High School Diploma or equivalent

•Excellent basic math and language skills

•Ability to work on computers with Windows based systems

•Ability to learn and retain information

•Ability to lift 40lbs or above

•Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail

•Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle interruptions and meet deadlines

•Ability to identify and solve problems, analyze information and implement solutions

•Capable of taking initiative and assuming responsibility

•Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment

•Excellent verbal and written communications skills

•Experience working in conflict resolution

•Ability to pass specific Food Bank Food Safety course annually

•Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment in a safe manner

•Ability to maintain good relationships with multiple coworkers and clients

•Minimum of a Valid, unrestricted drivers license with insurable clean driving record
