Discussion Points:
- Principal’s Report
- Schoology – Parents will receive a letter this week with instructions for setting up parent access
- Teacher conferences – to be scheduled for the afternoons of December 3rd & 10th, new format for this year
- Group conference will still be requested by teachers for students who are struggling in more than 1 class
- Individual teachers can request a one-on-one conference with parents when a child is struggling in a single class
- Parents can also request a conference if they feel it is beneficial
- Mr. Moore will be writing a letter incorporating the new format an options which will be sent out to parents
- Secretary position has been vacated. Karen Brandau has agreed to fill the position.
- Powerschool – new mobile app that provides assignments, grades, attendance, etc. Schoology information is synced and available through Powerschool.
- Newsletter – contact is Rachelle Powers ()
- Talent Show – scheduled for February 5th.
- Rehearsals will begin in January and will be held after school. Students can take the late bus home
- Jackie Bartels is organizing the show
- Another parent volunteer is needed to help
- Activity Night dates – Mr. Moore to obtain and communicate the dates
- 7th/8th grade dance – to be held in December. Date TBD.
- Document cameras were approved. 13 new ones to be purchased.
- Treasurer’s Report:
- Treasurer’s report was presented.
- Fundraiser buyout – option will be offered again for families to pay $25 and opt of the fundraisers
- Bottle/can recycling fundraiser – to be held on November 7th in the CMS parking lot
- Box Top contest – 2 be conducted for a 2 week period. An email communication to be sent out advising parents of the dates.
- Constant Contact:
- $49 credit balance remains, which will cover October and November. Renewal date is December 17.
- Annual cost is $294. If My Library Plus is included, the total annual cost is $335, which includes unlimited postings
- Annual plan with My Library Plus is preferred because it is better than paying $5 per month for limited postings.
- With annual renewal, My Library Plus will begin immediately
- Student Directories – consider eliminating next year. There is a large effort to put these together, and they may not be widely used.
- Save Around Books – available for $20 each
- Book Fair:
- Sales and Profits from September Fair are down from last year – profits down by $350. Note that some popular books that sold well last year were not available this year.
- Volunteers were way down from last year
- For next year, need a second chair
- Spring Book Fair – Deann and Stacy can’t be there on June 5th. Need to have someone fully trained at the March Fair to cover this June date
- 2014-2015 CMS book – book is complete and on display in the library
